SOLD JDSU/Cyonics 4SL argon laser - COMPLETE system - $139 shipped SOLD

This is a pull from a beckman 488 system, so the power supply (2112A) is a matching set with the head (2212-4SLBK). However, the power supply will run ANY other argon head with this connector style, with the exception being the 2213-series heads. I can't find the bubble in the hour meter, but it started first click! According to the internal power meter, it does 1.2mW at 4A, 4mW at ~6A, and 10mW at ~8A



Comes with original 120V blower which I've wired with the power supply to one standard 120V plug. I'm including a length of semi-rigid aluminum duct which expands to 2 feet. I've also wired up a remote from spare parts. It has an on/off switch, a pot for adjusting power, and three banana leads which plug into your multimeter to give a real-time readout of tube current and/or tube output power. Black to the twisted red is current (0.1mV/A) and back to the other red is power (0.1mV/mW)



This is a complete and fully functional system. You only need duct tape to secure the ducting to the blower. Plug it in, flip the switch, and out comes 488nm light.

UPS.com just quoted me $1,165.61 AUD, so probably not :yabbem:. I'm probably entering something wrong, but I don't see it coming in any less than several hundred. Looks like this is too big/heavy to send overseas I'm afraid.

I'm reducing this to $168 shipped (in the US). Canada, maybe.

I doubt you entered anything wrong- when i looked to see how much it was to ship my old argon to a guy in brazil who was interested, it came out to over 750$ with any shipper. In the end, using the cheapest methods in the US cost me like 60$, and that was with USPS, so the power adjust knob was broken when the guy got it....And it was packed incredibly well.

That is a very nice deal--

I got one with the same fan- but thought I needed to enclose it so i would be pulling air thru the head not blowing into-- Dont remember where i read/heard that -

To whomever ends up with this sweet blue laser-- break out your 532 handhelds and see the color shift they make in the presence of Argon blue- - AFAIK its only seen that way by our eyes- Pics would not show these to be yellow like our eyes see it. I will try that with a 515nm green diode --

Ideally the buyer can come get or meet halfway-- -- Herrursciences had a great tutorial at Ebay on shipping Argons- he wrote to send the PS and the head in two boxes-
I have gotten 6 Argons w/ 5 shipped - so far no damage and all sent in single box-

Are you sure you can even ship that thing for that much?? I got a system from Trevor way back when and it was close to $75 just to ship it.
