I want the most awesome burning laser

... Build your own! Cheaper, and more easily customized. Plus you learn a lot from it. If you're just here for the lasers... it just feels a bit immature to the community. A true hobbyist/enthusiast learns, not simply just plays around, y'know.

No offence, but you seem kind of immature. If you wan't a high powered laser, you better do some reading up and invest in some good safety goggles

Now, lasers aren't all about extreme safety measures which prevent you from seeing the laser at all, but, burning will definately need safety goggles. Just reflected light of a wall can blind you.

but, when sky-pointing, safety goggles aren't needed. Just be careful not to hit anything. We don't need more bad incidents giving lasers a bad name.

Now, go out and read!

Scary thread! I'm sorry but that was my first and lasting impression. You are a brand new member and one of your first posts, if not the first post, is to ask one of us to sell you a powerful burning laser - SOLELY TO IMPRESS!

And, you want it to come with a battery and charger, but made no mention of SAFETY GLASSES at all.

Man that scares the S#@t out of me!

I'm sorry but I think you are going to have a difficult time convincing any of the sellers that actually build quality lasers and are proud of their work to sell you one. You may get lucky and find someone willing to dump one that they bought from someone else and just want to get rid of it, but I think that most of us that actually care about the hobby and lasers that we've built, want to protect our rights and keep others safe, have probably all turned tail and ran.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but you sound awefully young and your reason for wanting the laser is rather scary.

If I am wrong in the conclusions I came to, then I apologize, but from the opening post I think I probably echo the thoughts of others too.

It seems like you want this laser just for burning things.

May I suggest a match? It is safer and it burns things faster than any laser can! :beer:

Come on. I have safety glasses, I've bought several different lasers before and actually have a few different pairs of glasses.

These things are FUN, and trust me, I take many safety measures when using.

I'm just looking for a high powered laser that was made to burn!

I also wanted to say that I have been reading a lot of information about safety on this forum and I'm very interested into getting into building these. Just right now I am very busy with work among other things and just would like one to show off to my buddies. I certainly won't be pointing it around like a madman

OK evan, I guess you won me over, even though you last post didn't start out doing so.

I have one laser that's better than 2 watts now, but it ain't for sale.

I am getting ready to build a couple more though, and if you give me an idea of what you're looking for style wise, I'll give you a price on it.

And of course it would come with a power and build quality guarantee.

Cause, when it comes right down to it, I almost always have at least one laser on me, and I do love to impress others with it too.

One of my lasrs actually was responsible for meeting 2 hot girls in a bar just a little while ago, and getting the phone number from one of them!

Who would have ever thought that a pretty blue light that could burn stuff could impress a babe?

I happen to own a high powered yellow laser. It puts about about 10 Watts of power. Here's a picture of it in action.



In this pic, I pointed it at the moon to get a picture of the beam. Unfortunately, I left the laser on for too long while I walked back to take the picture and I set the moon on fire! LOL!

Anyhow, I'm willing to sell this, it's too much power for me. You'll be the talk of the town when your friends can see your laser from the moon!

Also, local pickup only, no shipping. This unit weights a few tons and the shipping fees would be through the roof.
