"I just want to buy C-mount." ......(diode? camera lens mount? some plumbing device?)

"PS. I don't want laser mounted C-mount.".....(so you don't want a laser diode?.....)


PS...Usually it is nice of one to introduce themselves to a community before 'almost demanding' a sale of something that is not even well described.

PPS....Try ebay for C-mount laser diodes, there are a few different wavelengths available there. After that you will have to look deeper at companies like Thorlabs, and Edmunds.

Sorry for not introducing me. I am a college student in illinois(don't want to be specific on which), and I am doing my project on mounting laser diode on C-mount, and ball bonding it. That is why I want only C-mount(Au-plated copper C-mount). That is why I don't need a laser mounted C-mount. However, it is pretty hard to find a company just selling C-mount only. Thank you.

I think I may know what you are talking about. I'm not sure where you would find just the C-mount alone. I'm not speaking from any experience, but you may be able to 're-use' a new diode for the mount.

I am afraid to say that it will not work, but when we re-use our own copper mount with indium cover, it doesn't work as it used to be due to oxidation of indium at high temperature. Also, I plan to get both mount and unmount c-mount to compare the re-usability(?). Thank you.

I must defer to others than, good luck in your project, it sounds very interesting.:beer:

Edit: This may be a stretch but worth a try. This company is very well know for well built lasers and such equipment. They may or may not manufacture their own diodes, but I would 'guess' that their suppliers are there in China as well. This being said, through CNI you may be able to purchase bare C-mounts.
Worth a try at least.

I have a strange question for YOU :)

- As part of recent auction, I bought a whole bunch of laser diode "chips" (that's exactly how they were described). If my presumption is correct, these are essentially just the emitters? I don't know whether they will be mounted on anything, or if they'll even have bond wires attached.

- They were $10, so it was really just a personal curiosity. However, do you have any idea what I might actually do with one of them to try and produce some light ? :)

I think you will just get emitter, and if it is only emitter, then you need to put them on some mount system, and apply some power(electrically or optically). Therefore, it can release the heat that was produced. However, high chance that you will burn the laser easily if you give it continuous power without proper heat sink.
