If you have any 405nm dead (LEDed) diodes that have at least SOME sort of output, I am interested in taking them off your hands! Rather than throw them away, I have a purpose for these sad overworked diodes! :)

I think i've got a LED PHR diode, I am not sure if it was the driver that failed, or the diode. I'll test it later today.

What can You use them for.?

Well... if it still outputs even a little 405nm light, these will still work as UV LEDs. I am building some custom UV lighting in my computer (It's an all clear case with UV reactive liquid coolant.)

I can't really pay anything for them since the stamp itself would buy a brighter LED... but if you have some that you don't want to just throw away, you can send em my way. :)

Hmmm.

IMO Rather then getting a bunch of Dead 405nm diode that produce very little light "which i dont think will even be enough for your purpose" I would rather buy a PHR-803T and Make a DIY LM317T Driver to power it at ~70-80ma and Maybe even 50mA for Long Life.

Your just not going to get enough light out of the dead 405nm diodes. Plus you will have to worry about driving them as well as keeping all them cool.

An LED Laser diode barley gives out any light. Nothing Close to a Regular standard LED.

You would probebly need 50 "LED" Laser diode to put out close to 5-10mW <<"Guess" Of Light. Just not worth it.
