Ah, but if you think about it, since we aren't a factory or set up with CNC, making several parts identically would actually take more time due to all the measuring we would have to do to get them all identical...its actually faster to do them each free-hand, eyeballing the design and scale to fit everyone's individual requirments for batteries. For instance, right now we have a request for a 2X 18650's, a 2X 26650, and a 1X 14440....each with a different diode, and that is just a couple of loose examples. And those are just LPF members....lol...lots of fans on here of different builds! You guys here are a very diverse group of different builders, which is part of what makes this place so great!! :D But it is also what helps with the Uniqueness of the hosts.

PM me, and we might be able to work out a special rate on an Aluminum and Brass heat-sink Host...copper is VERY expensive (a 12" bar @ 1.5" diameter is ~$100) Not to mention that 99.99% pure copper is a very difficult metal to cut. We would love to do a groupbuy thing, but it just wouldn't work out..right now we are just two guys and a single vintage lathe. As it is, we are only doing this for the love of the hosts and the guys who want them (and the occasional viral video that may come our way! lol)...cause the pay is less than minimum wage already.

Ah i see, you make every host different. But if you would make fer example one type of host with 1x 18650 that is exactly the same every time, you could make a number of the same parts at once thus reducing the time to make one thus be more efficient (less thinking more building). Resulting in cheaper hosts.

I understand the art part :) just trying to help you aswell here. A larger quantity of orders will also benefit you.

Forget about the groupbuy thing if it is not suiting your style which i respect it was just an idea nothing more

Those hosts you guys make are insane!!

Greetings!

OMG your hosts just look incredible... amazing. I would sure love to have one, who knows if my finances can recover....
Just a quick question how much time do you need to produce one of your hosts?
Also a rough price would be nice (at least a starting price)...

They quoted me a few months. I would PM them regarding price, however as it will change depending on your specifications.

I'll take you up on that. I still want the same size, but I think I can pull the funds from my bank today. Also, gonna add you to my "Support LPF Vendors First Thread".

Cheers,
Isaac

No, there is no protective coating on the copper. We actually were going for the idea of the natural aging of the materials for patina. It will give a wonderful look to the piece. We are huge fans of the patinas on brass and copper. If you wanted to keep a good color or polish on it, I would recommend using a simple polishing cloth..but copper does age quite nicely. It years for Verdigris to take hold on it. But We were going for a "early-atomic/art deco" age kinda of look, and it has been also described as "steam-punk" with the mix of the metals, and aged copper fits into that.

Mo

Does the copper have a protective coating to prevent oxidation?

Wanted to update you all. Jamal, our Metal Artist, has had some health problems, setting us back in production for a few weeks. However, things are finally resolved and hes healing up nicely. Hes now able to spend quite a bit of time in the shop catching up. So, we are again taking orders.

All my best to Jamal, Mo. I'm in no rush. I'll be happy to wait if others are more anxious
