er... 405nm is very dark purple, not blue.

I guess you could argue that violet is kinda "blueish".
Why are you recommending class 3 and 4 lasers to a total noob?:thinking:

Of course, 1W will be way too much power for a first laser, but the question wasn't about an "appropriate" first laser... :confused:
Oh. Right, he said "best".
Definitely CNI makes the best portable lasers, but they won't have anything for <$200: :yabbem:

Here is what I can offer:
Take your pick of any ONE of these.
4x $50 bills
10x $20 bills
20x $10 bills
40x $5 bills
800x quarters
2000x dimes
4000x nickels
20000x pennies
Im not sure which is best, but I dont think I would like to carry around 20000 pennies
I dont know anything about blue lasers, so i cant help you there

or how about 200 pictures of 445 bluish lasers? there selling like hotcakes at a buck a piece! since the only thing in the op says is "i like bluish colored lasers, 445nm"
