Hey guys, this is my second spirograph, using a radioshack project box, i think dimensions are 2.5'' in height and width and 5.5'' in length. not positive i threw out the package. but it fits in my hand!
as far as wiring goes..
i have one switch and one pot for weach motor, same with batteries, its easier and i think more pattern designs when you can control one motor at a time.
the negative from the battery to the motor are together and just sitting not connected to anything else. the positive battery goes to the first lead on the switch. the other lead from the switch has a wire that goes to the pot. the positive from the motor goes to any other open lead on the pot. very simple.
Please note: i havent made something to mount the laser in, i just made a small hole just to show you the pics. kinda a work in progress. but everything else is done.
it took me about 4 hours to build (Nonstop) and its very lightweight!~. im very pleased with the results. please leave your feedback.

Total Cost of build-45-50 dollars. If you want one i can order motors from deal extreme and the price drop will go down to roughly 30 bucks. BUT if you choose to do that im not responsible for those motors quality, these motors i have are very trustworthy and high quality, i dont know what DX motors are good or not in quality, but i just went and spend the extra 17 to get better motors.
PM me or reply if your interested

kinda silly to have two switches for 2 motors. I can't think of any reason to only want one motor on at a time if your potentiometer has the capacity to totally stop the motor.

Not to let you down, man, but the project really looks like a mess, the wires are longer than they should, the presentation has too many mistakes. 45 bucks for a spirograph which doesn't even include a laser module?

Yeah I can go to spencers and purchase one of the laser one spyrographs for $39 and it is programmed for random effects has two mirrors and a 5mw laser that is EASILY replaced.

Not to discourage you. Keep trying and clean it up.
