A 500mw module from lasever is $250 alone.
High power 532 aren't commonly built because they are not direct diode lasers. I've built 200mw 532 but those modules are more easily sourced and cheaper.
Unless you want 520nm, and that's $700 for the diode alone. But you could get 1w from it. It can absolutely be done, but it's just not as easy as a common 445,638 etc build.

Lots of people could build your something very nice. (some better than others). If your hearts set on green, expect the hunt for a builder to be a little longer.

As for, red, blue, violet, 200mw and under green, 520 green, would save you money.

I think Tmack explained it pretty well. 400mW of 532nm in any form won't be cheap(at least for now). I think your best bet is buying one used, those range anywhere from 40%-%60 the price of a new unit and will still last for years to come :)

Just keep looking around the B/S/T section as one of your options, a high powered 532nm is sure to pop up sooner or later.

I have a nice laserbtb HL532 that peaks over 450mw.
They are great lasers.

Supposedly it has been spoken for. But I would still send a message.

Ehh. That's going to make it hard to buy from members unless they accept some other payment

Exactly. Im working on it though. Would a 400mw be as bright as say my blue avatars pic since it'd be in the green range of the spectrum

400mw of 532 will be extremely bright. The spot will be brighter. The beam of the 445nm will be thicker. The 532 will travel much further. They have very different characteristics. But 400mw of 532 will be right there with 3w of 445, the spot and beam will be more concentrated.

thanks thats what I was lookin for. my 2w 450nm is extremely bright but I can only imagine a high powered green as its something like 20x more visible correct? Assuming equal power that is.

Overall I like the beam characteristics of green lasers anyways I like the tighter rounder beam, a focusable 300-400mw 532 is what I really want. I could go chinese laser again and get a 1w thats underspec to prolly 500mw and still have a nice host etc for like $250... Not sure how the lenses and such would be though..

Go to laserbtb. Never bank on 50% of spec from a sketchy company. Just order from a trusted one and I promise you, the quality will blow the other away.

Laserbtb

DRAGON LASERS

Are some of the best. Laserbtb is the best for your money.

Would you recommend laserbtb for a 1.5 or 2 watt 445nm laser? I like the safety features on it compared to other custom lasers. Thanks

Yes! laserbtb has some of the best 445nm 1W/2W lasers around. Additionally, check out the B/S/T section of the forums for some custom built ones :)

What is that host you mentioned in the OP? Do you have any pics?
