Thanks for the clarification!
Everything looks great.
I don't suppose you'll sell everything as a "kit" without the module or battery?
Debating... So tempting... I'm having a hard time parting with with $230 (Stainless) right now...

Too many laser purchases in the last little while. Waiting for about 11 packages in the maill... dragon lasers, DX, O-like, and several LPF members...

Perhaps - though I'd have to start getting a few request for that - plus as each module is not identical depending on the power/model each sink would be different. At the moment I carefully fit the sink to the host. Its a bit more complex that you may think...

could you somehow polish the host too? i think it would make it blend even better
Yes, thats not too hard. You would just need to ask.

if it blends near perfectly after polishing of the host, I would be sure to buy one of these some time. I would need to see pics of it first though.

Definitely Interested in a fully polished model.
Curious do you use any sort of sealer once you're done polishing?

Re: Custom green lasers $220

Are you talking about a clear coat over the metal or a water tight sealer for the internals etc?

Just a clear coat over the freshly polished metal.

Re: Custom green lasers $220

I suppose I could do a clear coat but it isn't necessary from a metal oxidation perspective as the aluminium retains its shine and it would cut back on thermal transfer a little.

That's a stainless steel host and polishing won't help make it one2one. That's why I suggested a polished Al host a few posts back:

...can I also assume that this 14500-sized polished-alu finished host would also work... :-?

Its true, stainless always comes up with a slightly different luster to aluminium. Still, it looks good. A bare aluminium host could be polished fine but I wouldn't be up for removing any of the coatings they apply to the aluminium so don't ask ;)

LikeitBright;

Very nice metal work on the heatsink.

What is the polished center piece ?

Is the lens fixed or adjustable ?

The polished centre piece is a brass aperture cap I make. Most green modules are not really set up for focussing - because the beam diameter is generally small at the collimating lens they are best suited for pointing rather than attempting to focus and burn with them etc. The green module comes collimated from the factory and I leave them this way. That said I can make a focusable version with more effort and cost if that is what someone wants.
