This laser is an 8X Blu-Ray (Violet) build, In the Smallest host compatablie with 8x currents.

It resides in JAYROB's new CR2 Keychain Kit with a 405-G1 lens!

Power output: 428mW
current input: 305mA

As it stands now, This is the smallest 8x build in existence. "that truely outputs the 8x's full power"

YES there are stronger "violet" lasers out there, but NONE in a host this small.

Asking price $450 (was $500!)

Hey dark I don't understand do people really want stuff so small? Personally big is appealing to me both for life, look, and duty cycle.

I can only dream of getting a herc, I got close, as in CNI said they would sell one to me, and then they revoked there offer :(

Yeah, why not? There is a point where small is just "too small"... but the smaller the better. At least for pointers where the main point is portability.

I agree... especially for the more high powered lasers such as the 8X. As the power to size ratio changes, the overall cooler the laser. It like having a coolness density!

8X + small size = more coolness in a smaller package!

Sorry that was rather dumb...

Dark, what duty cycle can be achieved with this build?

Thanks!

Tyler

It has been tested through-out the night on a 60 on, 80 off ratio. not every single cycle was tested. but the laser shows NO symptom what-so-ever :)

It burns like a champ!! I am going to be making a video if i can. That way everyone can witness it's glory first hand!

:) Thanks for the compliments guys,

I'm making a video on my web-cam right now, i'll post that up in a second!

Don't worry KipKay will manage to steal your idea somehow.

LOL! Thats ok, people here know who ships quality, and who ships crap ;)

And Tymetravler - What exactly are you waiting for? the video?

I cant wait for Jayrob to see this, He'd be proud :)

It is a BDR-S03

And i believe these come from a ?Pioneer? drive as well as the BDR-203

But i'm not sure. They are the S03's, not the 203's. They call it the "Kendall mystery" i think??

I dont know, someone else may know more about it than me, all i know if this diode is pumping like a CHAMP!

I'm debating on taking the risk, and bumping the driver up to 350-360mA. I'd REALLY love to breach CLASS 4...

And this diode is very efficient, 305mA outputing 428mW's!
