I am trying to get some money together for a good green labby so I have decided to sell one of my argons since I really have no need for 2. It is a JDS Uniphase single line 488nm model 2214-20SLMD and comes with power supply 2111-65MLQYV. The output is adjustable from about 5mW to about 50mW. It requires an external controller that plugs in to the power supply via a 25 pin D-Sub connector. I have the details on how to build one and it is not difficult, I just have not had the time to put it together. I have the connector and a few switches, potentiometers and a box for it which will come with the laser. I have also heard that Chris from heruursciences has some already made he might be able to sell, but you would have to ask him to make sure. I have hooked up the interlock and power pins and fired it up at idle to confirm it works and it does no problem. It will also come with a large 12V fan for cooling and will need a housing to connect to the laser tube. I used a plumbing adapter from Lowe's for my other argon. I have also seen cooling units on ebay for pretty cheap. Those are all the details I can remember off the top of my head and if I remember anymore I'll add them. If you have any questions post here or PM me and I'll be sure to answer them. I am asking $400 which includes shipping with the continental US. Any additional shipping fees will have to be paid by the buyer. By the way, the mount for the tube in the picture is not included, I just havent gotten around to putting it back on my other tube.

EDIT: New price of $350 shipped in the US and I may have the Uniphase controller for this as well soon.

Bump. I'd really rather sell this to someone here than on ebay. Make me an offer and maybe we can work something out.

Just noticed in the first picture - is the cable even hooked up to the tube ? It looks like it is frayed on one end.....

Yeah it's hooked up just fine. Thats just the metal braid surrounding the inner cables. I have tested the unit and it works just fine apart from needing the interface to control the power.

Re: FS: Uniphase single line Argon

This is similar to the 2214-30SLQT I got from Chris.  Nice 488 laser especially with the controller.  That control can also be found from Chris or ebay for $80 to $120.

Yeah, if I hadn't gotten my other one working right I would have kept this one and probably bought one of those controllers. I'm asking $400 shipped in the US.

I changed the price. In the process of ordering a labby from CNI so I need some money to offset the cost of that.

I'm about 5'8" if that helps at all. The head is probably 14-15" long and 3-3.5" in diameter

GOD DAMN

I love how Argons always look huge like some uber death ray but are always like 50mw at best. ;D
