Re: FS: Two Custom Clicky Hosts 1x18650 or 2x18350

Ehgemus, would it be possible to:
- Take this style/look
- Make it a side clicky
- Make it a 2x18650 host
- Drill 3x 12mm holes in the heatsink (on a triangle pattern), instead of one

If possible, then I just need to turn my mind to a 3 channel buck driver capable of ~7.5 total amps of output. :)

EDIT: Too clarify, not looking to combine beams, just to output three roughly parallel ones.

Yes I can do that but we would need to find a switch that can handle the current if it's going to be over 7A
Any ideas on a switch?

Could just cheat if it's close. I'll be bucking voltage, so the current on the input side would be more like 5A. So a switch rated for even half that would probably be fine. What are your existing switches rated for?

The typical "angel eye" switch is rated for 3A. If you want a latching switch though, make sure you have the room in your host, they are a fair bit longer than the momentary versions.

latching switches are about 10 mm longer

And surprisingly difficult to find in 12mm diameter. Took me forever to find one.

3A would be just fine.

I mean, if we're getting picky about running 5A through a mechanical switch that's only rated for 3A, then we should probably have a conversation about the currents we're running our incredibly sensitive (screw that.... magical) InGaN diode wafers at ;)

Yeah I thank we will be fine. I would be more worried about using a latching switch than I would a momentary.

Yes it is a module build host, seams to be what everyone is wanting nowadays. Quick and easy.
If you want something with a driver pill type of host just pm me. I can build whatever you want.:)

Really? I honestly prefer the driver pill hosts, but I guess that's why I haven't seen many of those. Also those without a pill are probably easier to machine. Now I know :)
