Hey guys !

Decided I would get a new power supply, so I'm going to sell or trade my old one. The power supply is a Thurlby PL320 bench top power supply, voltage range is from 0-30V ( mines goes to around 33V ) and the current range is 0-2A ( Goes over 2A if it's in a good mood :D )

picture.php

Picture showing the power supply and a 635nm Aixiz laser module which I am testing for Ben74.

This is the model with the programmable interface. Although I've never actually used the interface. I presume it's for controlling it through a computer .

Shipping will be £20 for inside the UK and around £40 to overseas, as this weighs quite a bit !

I'm willing to accept cash or trades for laser goodies , or a cheap oscope ! Looking for £50 or a worthwhile trade ! :D

Thanks for looking,

Adam

I'm tempted and in the UK, but I dont know if I can justify spending any money ATM. At low voltages, would this be able to push out much higher current? (For multi-watt IR diodes) Also, is this a regulated current and voltage source, or just voltage? Does it have an UK plug?

Sorry for asking so many questions at once :)

It can only max out at 2A at any voltage. it goes over 3A sometimes, as it did once with a TEC,but it doesn't usually do this. It's Current and Voltage regulated by the looks of it, since I can set the current and the voltage adjusts accordingly, and vice versa. It has a UK plug , runs fine off my mains. :)

Yeah this will work 220-250V ( my line is 251V and it works fine :) ) .

That core looks nice, I may be interested in that unless a cash offer comes along. PM me if you want and we can discuss further !

I am in the USA, so I don't know if I can use this-- I get 120v, and I don't have any of those plugs. I would be interested if there was a way to get it to work on my end

You can use a 120-240V converter transformer. They probably sell them in walmart.

Manual

Hi Diachi,

As you've seen from other thread, I've recently bought a similar PSU.

If it's of any use I've attached a scanned copy of the manual for my model, (it covers more than one model so should help clear up some of the Qs asked here. *Can be reconfigured inside to run from a variety of voltages*). It was very kindly sent to me by a very helpful employee at Thurlby.

Good luck with the sale.

M

No problem at all!

M

*Edit* Looking at your photo of your supply in action, it looks like I'm testing in the same way as yourself, (i.e. straight from the outputs). If this is safe, I'll keep doing it!
