how much is 100mV in terms of mA on the micro chrome?

gaa can't wait for a new laser
how visible is the beam on this little monster?

The rating is a guess. The driver is unmodified which at max is capable of 100mV. In terms of mA, I'm not sure what that equals to.

The way it is right now, I can shine it on my hand for an extended period of time without it feeling warm. I haven't tried burning anything with it because I don't have any safety glasses.

The beam is visible at night, but not in a lit room or during the day.

I think it would be better set to 125mV instead, which would need a little modification to the driver.

I dunno, I might end up keeping it....

Kloan, you don't mean mV (millivolts), you probably mean mA (milliamps). And when you originally said mA, I think you meant mW (milliwatts, the actual output power).

About the same either way...

From climback:
I(mA)     P(mW)
45 10
50 19
60 33
70 51
80 67
90 80
100    99
110    115

oh, whoops.. thanks for the correction. yeah, i meant 100mV since that's what the doc/info sheet says the max drive of the microdrive is without modification... so according to the specs above, it'd be somewhere around 99mW. shouldn't that be rather hot on the hand/skin at that power? i admittedly know very little with these things.. not sure what mW becomes burner.
