Why shouldn't we buy from WickedLasers?

I couldn't find the thread "33 reasons not to buy from WL" but here is the basics of it:

1) Price: Their lasers are TERRIBLY overpriced. Their most powerful Arctic(445nm) which they say is "2W" is being sold at $600!!!! Something which can be easily built on the forums for less then $300 and will actually output 2W+ of 445nm light.

2) Safety Goggles: Their "safety goggles" offer little/no protection agaisnt high powered lasers. Take a look at this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/careful-those-wicked-safety-glasses-54143.html

3) Advertising: Many people refer to WL as the "fanboys" of lasers. They advertise untruthful facts just to get people to purchase their products. I.e "Artic is the worlds most powerful blue laser, same with their Krypton which they sell as being the worlds most powerful green laser(which 750mW of 532nm is NOWHERE near the most powerful 532nm available).

4) Customer Service: WL's customer service really can't be said as horrible or great. They have had their periods where they completely failed to reply to e-mails(I have heard) and orders took over 1 month to ship without explanation. Other times their customer service was excellent. So you are basically taking a gamble(something I wouldn't risk with a $600 laser).

5) Prove everything: Finally, if you do buy a WL unit and try to sell it on the forums you will need to AUTOMATICALLY have it at least LPM'ed before anyone will consider buying it since WL is known for having under-spec lasers. Over the years people have just lost complete trust with WL and even though you are buying a "2W" unit you never really know what power it is.

Good to hear your laser got to you safely! Still waiting on mine, will make a review once it arrives :)

Next time you should have sent full payment earlier and you maybe you would already have the laser by now :D

Personally I like waiting longer for my stuff, more suspense!

The lasers have just arrived...everything is fine!

Thanks again ;)

Enjoy these lasers. They´re both perfect builts

Glad to hear you managed to get enough cash together for a new lens. I am overly cautious about my camera gear, never let it stray from my side. But I have heard stories like yours before, even seen it happen on video where in a public place there could be someone watching you, waiting for you to move away from your camera bag and be distracted and WHAM its gone!
Now you can save for some new lasers and have all the fun again of collecting! :D +Rep Hmmm when it lets me!

The picture makes that monitor look disproportionally large somehow. Looked like a 90 inch TV! I was like why is that Tamron box so effin big?! And then I saw the lens and was like "oh....it's not..."
