Re: FS: Torture survivor ;) 445nm 1.6W Monster!

Such a nice laser. I'm waiting for more of those kits to be back in stock so I can make my own!

I know - I love this guy. It's one of my favorite heatsink designs yet. Perfect for custom drivers.

Well, I delayed it when I purchased my $200 HL63133DG... which ended up being dead out of the starting gate... so I think I'm back in the "buy a yellow" game again.

I also sort of got setback buying that projector -that really wasn't necessary, but was fun.

Now I'm ~10 days from my cross country move though, so unless I happy to raise the $600 I need for a yellow in the next week or so, I think I'll be ordering it once I'm setup in the new place.

I've decided on the 50mW dragon lasers 589nm.

How reliable is the diode now? I mean after that test... It's amazing that it survived, but how would it affect reliability?

It hits the same peak, and sustains the same initial characteristics (I'm not going to subject it to another 15 minutes), but all evidence points to the diode being 100%. So my feeling was that the diode is actually shown to be more efficient / hearty.

Just wanted to throw onto here I've now received the items from rhd and he was wonderful to buy from, answering my many questions and helping me with everything I needed to know in a timely and polite manner.

I will be buying from him again (assuming he has something I want lol), and will fully reccommend that anyone buy from him.

Many thanks to you rhd!
