Sorry guys, i haven't looked too hard, but i was wondering if there is a tutorial out there, text or video, on how to use these specific test loads. Any help would be appreciated, as to i have never used on of these before.

Check out the first post. Hook it up to your driver in the place of the laser diode, power up the driver and measure the test load with a DMM. For 445nm diodes I suggest the 4th or 5th setting on the test load. For higher powered(2W+) 445s I use the 5th mostly. The setting you choose effects how much voltage the test load draws and higher powered 445s usually draw more voltage.

Oh damn, I just came back from a hiatus and realized you're out of stock already! Would you be able to put a DIY unit aside for me once you get more stock? I can pay in advance if need be.

Cheers

@Rogerwilko: Hey Roger! I remember you were asking me about that last month, heh. I'll keep you posted. It should come in around mid August.

At what setting should i use for a S06J? I want to set it at 425ma.

Also, what setting do i put my Multi-Meter on? mili-volts right?

An S06J is typically best off set to a max of 400-450mA. For your multimeter it depends on what you have but you want to be closest to what you will be measuring. The test load is 1A/V so set to whatever resolution that will show you ~425mV(or whatever your driver is supposed to run at) the best.

OK so where would i put the jumper if i was simulating a So6j with this test load?

The Vf of the S06J at ~425mA would be about 6V. That means that jumper 6 should work.

In the future you could have found that out quite easy with the search function. Don't forget to use that bro.

While I would say that is true on the diode side. If however your using an X-boost you will have to measure the voltage on the driver side of the test load to match the diode as your testing. For example if your using the 12x diode and it's @ 4.7 to 4.8V I would suggest you to read the voltage at the driver side especially if your using a PSU to match the forward V of the diode. Just check out Angelos's video on you-tube.
