Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Hey Podo, have you received my laser yet? I sent it about three weeks ago, and according to the USPS estimates, it should be arriving soon.

The laser tripod is a heavy big chunk, it's adding up the shipping cost and we have to ship the laser saber separately so.

Normal packages to US usually take around 8~14 days only. 16~20 days rarely, depends on your location.

Had no idea a $10 tripod add on could almost double shipping. My fault for not checking. Looking forward to the laser. :yh:

Hey Podo,

I recently ordered (2) g7 lens and a tripod, as well as a separate order for (1) g2 lens a couple days later. Long story short, the (2) g7 lenses DO NOT thread onto any of the (13) copper modules that I have in possession. I cannot even get two full threads to screw in. On top of that, and some may think this is pity, but neither of the g7 lenses came with o rings like the other (3) lenses that I have purchased from you in the past, and I actually use those with the focus ring and seems to work fine. The g2 that arrived does thread into the copper aixiz style module, it takes alot of force, but it does thread on.

Has anyone else has this problem with the g7? I mean seriously, I cannot even get two full threads to screw in, now I have (2) brand new bunk g7s, please help!!

Hi Cal,
I ordered a couple g7's a while back and had the same problem with them screwing into a cu module. I didn't want to force them and strip my cu modules. I screwed them in and out of a brass module a few times, then into a spare cu module I have and they now work fine. One of the two didn't have the o-ring same as yours. hope this helps you,
Danny

It helps tremendously, I appreciate that super quick reply too! I guess I'll have to find a copper module that I don't plan using so I can try to fix the threads..

I guess I get spoiled with companies like DTR and survival since it seems their products are very top notch, and I have never had any of these types of issues. I guess you get what you pay for, I have gotten (2) different types of g2s from podo, one definitely is a dead match to their g7 with a 7mm lens and was told it was a g2 and that their g2 and g7 are mirror images. Then the g2 that i recently received looks more like DTRs, except slits for o-rings, even has the same size lens as other g2s.. so idk maybe I rubbed Podo the wrong way or something, lol

Don't get me wrong, I think the level of craftsmanship on my Challenger 2 is second to none. It seems the little stuff I have had some baaad luck

Other than what I posted, I'm happy with my g7's especially for my red builds

Well after you clear the threads you will have a lens that won't move side to side, the loose and easy 3 elements will move side to side in the module threads and change your focal point, this is not a big deal unless you use an expander of corrective optics, then it's a good thing that the G7 fits without slack.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

I'm trying to run one of the g7s through an unused copper module to see if I can make something work for now. I am trying to tame down a 7875 a little bit with a g7. So hopefully the threads don't get too sloppy!

EDIT: been trying to thread the g7 into a new copper module and unless I break out some pliers I don't see any way of me getting these threads to fit. The slot on top of the lens is not deep enough to get grip with a flat head. Definitely a knuckle buster.

Podo... hey man please help!! (When your awake, as I know we're on opposite time schedules)

Yes, we got it fixed. Will ship it back to you soon.

Fantastic, thanks! I'll order the flat top batteries today.

What was wrong with it in the first place?

Also, just a reminder to send it to the alternate address I gave you, not the one you originally sent it to!

You can use a spacer or simply use your set screw that holds your module.

Just set the focus of your G7 to infinity with your adaptor already screwed on tight to your G7.

Then attach your 3X expander to the adaptor and push the module back until the back of the 3x expander or adaptor sits flat against your host and tighten your set screw.

Then do all your focusing to distance with the expander.

The G7 and 3X is a great combo, we have needed this set up for a long time with diodes getting more divergent.

The threads on the 3X expander do not appear to be M12x0.5 RH

I think they are an SAE size.

But the spacer works great.

When I discover the correct tap size I will post it for the DIY host builders.

RedCowboy, is that how you handle the focus on the G7 when adding any Expander? Set G7 to infinity and then focus the BE? I should be getting my first laser and first BE any day now from Sanwu and was wondering about that. Would it be different with a different company and BE?

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

If you buy a laser from SANWU I think most of them have threads for the BE at the output, if not use the adaptor.

But this is a homemade housing and in this case my module hole is 12mm, but the expander thread diameter is slightly less so I will make a bezel threaded add on later, to use the adaptor that fits the G7 I use the module set screw to lock in the focus of the G7 then zoom with the expander.

It's just 1 option.

These expanders are GREAT!
They really make a difference and extend your burning reach.
