laser is undergoing an investigation to see what the actual power holds up to by Ibuprofen200mg

www.rayfoss.com

I'm away from home so I will cluster this with actual pictures later. The tag fell off it too, but I should have a 2010 archive picture of it in the box with power tag. I told them to send me a new sticker and they never did.

I have no laser meters so all I can say its RayFos's word that its about 200mw.

Always loved the laser, it's focusable to a needle point at maybe 4cm from the aperture.

Does not come with a charger, I sold my charger with my last laser.

Comes with a protected rechargeable 18650 with oring on the end cap so the longer battery doesn't leave a gap and expose threads.

So. I need to edit my name because this is the last laser I own. I'll get back into the hobby later and rebuy lasers when I have a better job. I'm going through college (final year) so trying to get monies...once I get the new job, pay is over 3x what I'm making, and I will get back :). Will miss it xD

I ask 100 even, USA ship only.

But yeah, no files on my imgur so, will post pics soon, I know the "no pics" sales are not a fine thing but. I've sold an arctic, rayfoss red, and custom 18650 host 445nm through LPF and every customer has been happy :D

Want? PM!

Don't trust the power? Will post pics but I have no metering.

I will include shades if you need them for your safety.

Images from 2009. I do not have the original box, not that its special anyways. I think i have both keys, but i know I at least have ONE for those who want to lock it and keep kids out of danger.

Re: FS: RayFos's 200mw green $150 retail, me: $100 free ship (PICS)

I metered one of these exact units for another member, it was a 200mW rated one and it didn't even hit 100mW, you may want to have someone meter it for you

For a laser from 2009... you definitely will need to get it metered. Also green lasers have fallen in price a lot since that time, not sure how I feel about that, but you should take it into consideration.

Well i only posted it as the price as that's what rayfoss sells for, back when, sure, i could have gotten a similar laser for cheaper. Figured id try selling it here first before going to other sources.

I have no way to meter it, and it would cost me to ship it to someone to meter it, and ship back...

Only need to ship it one way. Use a middle man, and have it shipped on from there direct to buyer.

Edit, normally I would even offer, but I don't have my LPMs at the moment.

Lowest i could part with it for LPF would be $80. Guess in this case its w/e comes first. LPF member or some random guy i find elsewhere who will do $100 heh, cheap as is for the product at least. Wish i could sell it on ebay. I tried selling my arctic on ebay and before ebay shut it down and send me a message saying forbidden item, i had 30 bids up to $520 on it... Luckily i had a guy smart enough to PM me on ebay and bought it heh.

Id do that again on ebay but i dont need to risk them having a 2nd warning account suspension :(

By the looks of it, this requires a key? Is this what one might call "FDA approved" meaning it has safety features? If so, I'm very interested.

This is not an FDA approved laser, or even close to it. Pretty sure there is no aperture closer, pin to break circuit, or time delay.

You may want to check out the skylasers group buy, link in my signature.

I'm fairly certain those are not actually FDA approved either, but at least they have four of the five required safety features, as opposed to just one or two.

If it is 200mW, $80 is a very fair price for it. Of course a non hobbyist will never know if a laser is 100mW or 200mW.

To be FDA approved I'm pretty sure it has to have at least 5 safety features... Don't quote me on it but I'm fairly positive

To be FDA approved I'm pretty sure it has to have at least 5 safety features... Don't quote me on it but I'm fairly positive

1. Circuit interrupt,
2. Key,
3. LED to indicate On status,
4. Aperture closure,
5. 3 or 5 second fire delay. (I don't remember which.)

Problem is, after all that, the laser still has to be approved by the FDA... just because a laser has all the safety features doesn't mean it's approved though :(

My skylaser fits four of those criteria... but not so much the fire delay, at best it's ~1-2 seconds.

Pretty sure the only company that sells truly FDA compliant lasers is laserglow. (Could be completely wrong on this though :p)

I still don't understand the time delay... Seems like a safety hazard to me.
Inexperienced noob turns on laser. No light comes

Re: FS: RayFos's 200mw green $150 retail, me: $100 free ship (PICS)

I think these safety measures were probably thought up for much more powerful lasers, with the time delay being there, to give the operator the chance to turn the laser off, without firing, if it is turned on by accident.

How that can happen with 3 other safety features in place though... that I'm at a loss to even try explaining.

The laser is only key lockable, led indicator, and it does have aperture closer.

Didn't they use to say it took a 175+ mw laser to burn white paper? White paper burns easily..if that's true anymore.
