Want a DX laser but don't want to worry about the possibility of getting a crap or underpowered unit? I will purchase the laser and test it for power output and stability issues such as mode hopping, then if the laser passes inspection I'll ship it onto the buyer. (US Only - international shipping is pricey and I'd rather not take the risk of getting busted for shipping >5mW lasers) If the unit fails inspection I will send it back to DX one time free of additional costs - after that, returns will have a small fee.

Once the laser has been tested I will send the buyer a chart and graph of power output vs time and from there the buyer can decide to keep or return the laser. Units will also be tested for IR output.

Cost: $3usd + shipping to customer

Example: DX true200mW

$120.12 + $3 + $3.50 = $126.62 to your door for a verified output true200mW laser from DX

what if it doesnt pass inspection by you, like a 200mw is actually outputting 50mw of green? and is your power meter calibrated?

Well pretty much weather or not it passes is up to the buyer, I just report my findings. My power meter is based off a Coherent thermopile sensor (basically a kenometer with a less pretty case)

as long as they accept paypal ;) never bought from them personally before though[/quote]

Yes they accept PayPal, you'll probably be hearing from me in the future. They have a new RPL-like 150mW I want.

I have to ask, how much money are you getting out of the True 5mW for the kid at school?

You know, this may sound very nice, and would be a great service for such a small fee, for those who don't have their own meters, but the above example is making me pretty worried.

Have you ever ordered a DX200? They are SEVERELY bad lately. I received two, and both were modehopping, so i asked on DX forums, and someone who bought five had three of them mode hopping, and just two were good.

I returned my lasers and bugged the DX staff for testing, and gave them exact descriptions with pictures and videos of how to test, and Rain finally found me a good replacement yesturday, but he had to test SIX to find the best one (i don't know if the other five were all bad for sure, but the testing procedure was pretty extensive). It's being packaged right now, so i'll finally have a good DX laser.

What i'm trying to say is, you may be doing others a favour, but you may end up worse off yourself in the end, due to the amount of malfunctioning lasers. Take the above numbers into account to make sure you don't end up losing money. Good luck!
