Oh dear my eyes are getting poor, i just read over and it's right in front of me, thanks in any case :)
In Jayrob's kits, he drills out the pills (rhyming :O) to fit the driver in, can i still use this module in kits which do the same as jay?
Edit: Pm sent :)

it would depend on the kit. some of jays kits are mae to fit a lavadrive which is much smaller.

Yes, some kits must use just the front 'business end' of the AixiZ module with a FlexDrive because they are small hosts with a single battery supply...

But as Dave mentions in his post #12, the 4171 and 3405 hosts/heatsink kits that I have are perfect for these 'full length' modules with rkcstr drivers ready to go! See here:

Great job with those builds Dave! Thanks for the plug! :)

... great little violet pointer module. It has the SF-AD115 diode. It has a Rkcstr driver set at 65mA. It has the aiXiz acrylic lens. It is producing 30mW. This would be great as a lecture pointer or being used to cause things to fluoresce.
I took one of these off Dave's hands a while back and concede that it makes for a fun LP

The violet pointer I use to fluoresce stuff, only puts out 11mW! Not everything needs to burn, eh?

What did you buy?
Im still contemplating one of each .
Daguin, are the violet modules using a preset driver or an adjustable?

Ryan doesn't "commercially" produce a fixed current driver anymore. They are all adjustable. I don't recommend turning them up any more, but they are adjustable.

Peace,
dave

Good to hear. Yeah, if you buy more than one, I upgrade it to priority shipping.

11 @ 245mW red modules left ($35)

3 @ 190mW 6X bluray (violet) modules left ($100)

1 @ 30mW bluray (violet) pointer module left ($35)

Peace,
dave

Ok, so like I was talking about in my thread about where to buy in the US, I want a red burning laser. I'm new to lasers so bear with me here. I've already order and put together the parts for this laser I-Hacked.com Taking Advantage Of Technology - Building a High-Power Blu-Ray Laser and it didn't work for one because I'm fairly certain I broke a resistor on the driver. So I'm pretty anxoius to get a laser and decided I just want to buy my own.

So would those red burning laser modules fit inside the Dorcy flashlight with the dark horse heat sink? Is all I would need to buy your module and not have to really solder anything (not my strong point)? If so I'll take your most powerful red/green one! Thanks for the advice man!

These will NOT fit in a Dorcy. Sorry. There is a link to a couple of Jayrob's host kits above that will take these modules directly (and easily). You will not be touching the drivers so there is very little chance of breaking them. You will only be soldering a couple of wire-to-wire solders

My modules and JayRob's kits are the fastest and easiest way to build your own laser.

Hey, Dave!
Are these Blu-ray modules case-negative/positive?

Just curious since this would be a great thread to refer people to when they get my next kit. They would just need to remove the negative lead and create a positive contact point on the bottom of the module... It would save them a lot of trouble.

Thanks, Matthew
