I can laser etch just about anything on anodized aluminum, the etching is white regardless of anodize color, the intense heat from the co2 laser bleaches the color out of the dye. Can also etch onto stainless and other non-anodized metals, a ceramic compound is used for this which is bonded to the metal by the heat, the etching is black in this case. Just an FYI for anybody wanting to put a nice touch on a build. Thanks!

Well based off the info in the pictures alone, it looks as though it can handle 100mW without a ND filter, and possibly up to 500mW with a ND filter.

In case you don't know what an ND filter is, it is a Neutral Density filter and basically should allow a certain percentage of light through. I think they are "supposed" to be neutral and remove light evenly across all wavelengths, but they do not and therefore a calibration/percentage sheet if usually included in these sort of LPMs. Basically, say it is a ND2 filter, that means it passes light through by a factor of 1/2 (and say it is accurate for a red laser) - so if the meter reads 75mW, then the red laser is 150mW.

hmm that is a very good question...
I am really not sure
I never went past 200mW

back in the day, there were very few lasers that went past that range

any old school laser enthusiasts out there that remember the technical specs for the LPM-1?
