I can't possibly understand why a "module" would be damaged by
an over powered Laser strike. The only thing that I could see is
the broadband coating of the Thermopile Sensor being scorched
or damaged.

Maybe Jerry can shed some more light on the subject.
You hit it on the head... Re-Coatimg of a LaserBee Thermopile sensor
requires Re-Calibration...

Like getting a full tune up after you bring a new (used) car home..

Edit: I work with high temp lab furnaces..
We spent a lot of time and $$ researching and testing coatings to
find a Broadband coating and method of application for our Thermopile
heads. It is really not as simple as spraying any old black paint on it
if you want a proper high temperature broadband coating.

You are more than welcome to re-coat it once you have the LPM and no
you can not re-calibrate the LaserBee 2.5W USB. It is done in Firmware
by an LPM by LPM in house proceedure.

For all we know the Thermopile Sensor may be pristine...

There is a big difference between High Temperature Lab Furnaces and
very low differential temperature Thermopile Sensors..

You may contact us at any time should you feel the need for re-coating
and re-calibration...

Jerry:

I dont doubt it.. I'm sure there's a lot of well defined, special materials that are all well understood by you guys that goes into a LaserBee.. Thats part of why they're so popular. They're accurate, and reliable.

I only referenced my current employ because we use thermal imaging equipment, and pyrometers, as well as millivolt devices (Thermocouples, Ion gauges, strain gauges, etc..) and meant simply to imply I'm quite comfortable with millivolt devices.

I meant no disrespect to you, or your products..

So, whats going on with this? I've made my offer, and sent a couple PMs.. Is this still for sale?

I didnt want to be an ass, but I think I've been more than patient..

If my offer isnt good enough, or you don't want, or have it to sell it anymore, then just say so. A response of any kind is better than none at all.

C'mon, don't leave a brother hanging

The surface of the Sensor has been wiped with something.
That can be seen by scratch marks and the missing coating
on the top right corner of the Sensor.
There is also what looks like a horizontal Focused Laser scorch
mark near the right center of the Sensor. (all contrary to the
User Instructions).
Looks like someone didn't read all the User Instructions....

You will still get a reading but I would question the accuracy.

The Sensor is not pristine and will require re-coating and
re-calibration IMO.
