Ok,

It's allright.

But I read from a few people here that their laser is sooooo special and they want 150 bux for a laser that should costs 60 bux or so???? I don't get it? It's like the emperors new clothes. No on has the balls here to call the primadonna's out on their scam's! I mean .. go to ebay if you want 150 bux for a red.

I am sorry to speak my mind, but it seems like there are too many "special" people here with mediocre talent trying to sell something for 3x's it's cost to their "friends" on this board!

The only legit craftsman I see are Igor, Laserbee, drlava and jayrob. There may be more, but I haven't seen yet .. why doesn't this board police itself against this?

If you produce a quality laser for $60, I'll buy one from you.

host = $20-$70
driver = $25
Diode = $20
Module = $5
Battery = $5
Misc. = $3

total $78 - $128

That is for parts alone

Now add:

shipping = $9
PayPal fees = $5
packaging = $2

total "cost" = $94 - $144

How much do YOU figure the builder's time and skill are worth?

If you ever make it to some level of business education you will quickly learn that in order to protect yourself from warranty losses and make a profit, you will have to charge between 2X - 3X the cost of production to remain solvent.

Welcome to the REAL world ;)

Peace,
dave

**EDIT**   Oh Darn!  I forgot the heat sink.  Add another $25 to the parts list

The parts itself cost about $89.
$21 Host
$24 Driver
$15 Diode
$4 Module
$25 Heatsink
-----------------
$89 Parts

If you like to build one yourself you come to the right place. :)

Your batteries are free? Do you send a lens cap as well?

Dave,
We are not "craftsmen" I guess

"ArcAgel",
(sp?) What work is it that you find pride in here, also what is your definition of "craftsman"?
Perhaps you should begin producing some finely-crafted-hand-tuned lasers for $60, then I might have a chance to review the quality/value of your labor. Show us how it is done, I will order my lasers from you rather than bother building them.

Monk,
This is a great-build and a great price, this is still a limited-market which is currently a little saturated. This does not reflect on your excellent product.

LOL your so freaking funny if i could afford this i would buy it becuase i know how much time it takes to build something like this, i got a almost 12 inch rubber band ball that i have been working on for a little while so i know what it means to take pride in your work. You whant to complain? Go make your own and stop crying.....
