I dunno how to explain it any clearer, basically I have an object that I'd like to make a case for... I'd like you to cut out successive layers of acrylic that I will glue together to encase the object in a frame.

Here is a picture of the object, side by side with a google sketchup model with the same dimensions.

...And here is a quick sketch of three layers of the acrylic I'll need to be cut... exploded view, sorry for it being an incomprehensible mspaint version, but I don't have access to a real CAD program, and google sketchup is pretty limited.

lets save this thread for the computer bugs. I guess we will have a hard time making something unless you can give me exact drawings...more than artist renditions. You can kind of figure cost out by my formula...my cutting rate is about $1.00 per sq/in. if you supply artwork. If I have to do the artwork it is around $60.00 per hour. I know that is not what you want to hear but you are doing one item that is custom...it wont be cheap.

Sign up for computer bugs, tomorrow is cutting day. I have to do two for PL forum and ZERO FOR LPF...that is pretty sad

Bad temper = Bad business. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The $22 cash an hour you are making is not that bad. More like $35 an hour if you were paying taxes. And you should take your own advice about having nothing nice to say. To some people $30 is a days pay. Obviously not for you though because that's what you are making in an hour, (probably more with your other job) and why you cant understand why someone would say that.

And stop guilt tripping people with the donation. Why not donate half your profit if you want use that angle.

I definitely have to agree with TJ on this one.. After watching this thread, all I can say is abrasiveness seems to work really well at running people off. We all like LPF and c0ldshadow and would love to help them out, and so it is sad that this sale didn't work out, but blasting people for asking questions that you consider to be bad questions is no way to make a sale. Even though you didn't say anything to me personally, I'd have a hard time buying from you since reading some of your answers pissed me off a little, frankly. In the future, you should try to remember being friendly pays when it comes to marketing yourself and your product.

Bad temper??? I think not...i just explained cost involved. Some people make $30.00 per day good??? I think not...I dont work in no sweatshop. This is my only job...Im self employed and have been my whole career. He has no right to justify my pricing or comment on it...AT ALL so I would have not said anything. He Insinuated I was ripping people off, and I was merely informing him he was mistaken.

No Guilt trip- merely informing that I tried, if people cant afford it or dont accept the prices I charge...that is not my problem. It was a gesture of kindness to support the forum,,,Very successful by the way over at PhotonLexicon forum. May be the people over there understand peoples time value more than over here...I dont know why.

I'll respect your opinion. Rangedunits said "30$ is a little much. " He did not ask "why is it so expensive" he just made a stupid statement. Which is offensive to me and my efforts (and if you think about it, you too would be offended). I was merely protecting my integrity by my follow up statement. It was a tad abrasive possibly. But rangedunits did not justify his opinion he merely slandered my post. Should you choose to not purchase items from me because of my personality that would be unfortunate because I have something to offer of value. I am friendly to everyone who is friendly to me.
