Excellent! Susie just got back so the module should be on the way soon. Plus, next week is the last week of Winter session. I'll be able to get back to my grueling two days a week schedule then. No one should have to work four days a week!

My pocket mini kits are just sitting in the drawer, taunting me.

I need more play time ;)

I am looking forward to you comments in my Pocket Mini kit thread for those builds. I think you will like them very much! Even though you have assembled many different builds...

I must say quality work here, everything worked perfectly as expected! I haven't gotten my module i ordered from Susie yet, but i tried one of my low powered green modules from a leadlight i had and i must say it works perfectly! Quality build and Jay is an excellent person to order from, very gracious and accommodating. I received my barrel within less than a week from when i sent it out, had i sent it to him on a Monday I would have probably gotten it back on the same week!

Does it come with a 1.5mm allen wrench?

If not can you inculde one for a little extra  :cool:

Does 79 us inculde shipping and handling?

$79 plus $6 dollars for shipping and handling will get you everything you see in the first picture in the thread.

Then you would need a module, a battery, and a 1.5mm Allen wrench for the set screw. The Allen wrench can be found at any local hardware store for less than $2 dollars.

Shipping out of the U.S. will be the same price. But there will be no signature confirmation. (Buyer assumes responsibility at that price) Should not be a problem though...

Btw Jay, are you implying (in your op) that 150mW is about the operating limit for this host, or were those module hyperlinks only examples? If the latter, what would be the limit, iyho?

I know that the Kryton's make for a pretty good heatsink but it's still not a full-fleged "handheld" with fins, etc.

I just don't know of a source that has any modules of this same size that are more than 150mW's...

O-like has higher quality IR filtered modules but they are a lot larger in size.

Gotcha. I just had a quick look around, didn't find much either. It's not that I want to build a mega-laser out of the kit but I already have a very nice 50mW greenie so I do want to to diversify... but 150mW should make for a difference, lol  :p

On a side note, what's your opinion on IR-filterless greenies? My current 50mW greenie comes with a filter & I might add one to the kryton - if there is space for one...

Not to suck up to bad Jayman but I hold my lasers,the important lasers, in the same velvet type wallet box as the one in the photo. ;D .

Traveller, I'm no expert on IR, but I measured less than a 10mW difference with an IR filter. So I figure it's no big deal. (IMO) It's not like I am looking toward the beam, and can get the IR going into my eyes...

If you want to put an IR filter in there, the Kryton is a good host for that. Right at the bottom of the Kryton head, where you would normally mount your red or blu-ray diode, is a perfect spot to glue an IR filter. I have some nice thin filters from Nova. They were about $10 bucks a piece...
