Jib. Is filing away the sides of the 1.3A's to make it fit in a aixiz module bad? Also, is it bad for the filed down driver to touch the inside of the aixiz module, touchiung the heatsink? Like will it cause any shorts?

You can file a little bit, you have 16 mils before you hit copper ... But all I had to do for the one in the op was to file away the little left over bumps from the breakaway tabs.

Whats the driver input current ?
Driver IC 7mA + Iout 877mA = 884mA.

Can these be setup like the flexdrives are where you short the (-) and case pin and not use the -v on the driver?

boost updates?
any cost estimates?
I know a guy who would probably be interested in bulk amounts of around 30-50 of them.

First build attempt was fail. I have to recut my solder paste stencil, it was putting way too much paste for the ic's thermal pad. I tried to resolder it but I think it got damaged, because it took over 5v to get 1.8A on a 4v load ... That's not boosting anything. :/

Keep trying! LPF needs this.

If only I had the knowledge......
or wasn't too lazy to learn

Well, re-doing the stencil helped tremendously. I dont have access to a bench PSU to test it until I go in to work on Monday. :(

Here it is:

^^^^^^^Looks great! :gj: I could use some of those.... ;)

On another note, I received my jib drivers today. I have a question. On one of the drivers, 2 components are soldered a little crooked, and the ends are touching. Is this a problem?

Just wanted to make sure before powering it up.

you could just desolder it and see if the pads connect...then resolder it straight.

The pads are separate on other drivers, but there could be a trace built in. I was planning on resoldering it, but I figured i'd ask the builder first. ;)

hi jib, i was just wondering. if i put more than 9v .. say 10.8v would it blow the driver? or just generate the un-needed volts to heat? thanks. this is for the 1.3a drvers

Why dont you just test load it? If it pops it pops

Cause a driver is more important than a hymen

This is ok, since they are joined there anyways by the ground plane underneath, the solder paste flowed together because there was a little too much. I am now using a solder paste stencil and this no longer happens.:) ... see post# 469 >>here<<.
