It has the Glue and looks black.

But if it works, there is no problem.

Glue? Might be flux and then dirt got stuck on it. Try cleaning it with pure alcohol.

I received mine yesterday. It is flux on the board. I don't clean it. I don't need a shiny driver. :D

Too bad that there are losses on the shipment. Mine was shipped unregistered and it arrived just fine.

sorry im really new with lasers,
will the 1.8a driver work well with this 2watt 445nm LD? (here)

Also, what kind of voltage should I be putting into it?
and what batteries would you recommend?

and sorry... a totally noob question... is thermal epoxy supposed to be conductive?
this store near my house sells "EPOXY THERMAL CONDUCTIVE". is this the right stuff to use to attatch the driver to a heat sink?

thanks for the help! :)

The 1.8A driver will work with the 445nm diode.
If your only going to use 2x lithium cells, try to go for an IMR battery otherwise you may not get the current you desire.
input voltage is 6-9V

Thermal epoxy is Thermally conductive, but should not be electrically conductive.

It sounds like the adhesive at your store is the correct stuff your looking for.

Thanks Mohrenberg! Got my driver and focus adaptor today =D
Also my driver looks perfectly clean so no issues there

Edit:
Decided to do some macro shots and these were the only laser thing I could find =D

Moh finally the drivers came today, was starting to think if it went walking. But 1 question.

Is the 2 Resistor suppose to be touching each other? because 1 drive the resistor is angled and the solder is actually fused together on 1 end, and the other driver 1 out of the 2 resistor is pushed all the way forward and is also touching the other resistor. Please let me know so i can either resolder them. cheers

They are joined together by a copper pad anyways so no it doesnt matter if they are touching ;)

It doesn't matter. The two resistors act like one for better heat dissipation.
