I got it from the local Fastenal store. the price came out to about $1.00 per inch.
It was actually like a 10 foot rod, but he cut 3 foot off for me.

I see. I'm trying to find cheap sources. A found a website that ships and for 5x 2ft. pieces, it says it's $79 shipped to me. Seems like a good deal, but I'm still looking.

Edit: They also have 1/4" aluminum plates, as low as $20 for 1ft x 1ft up to $29 for 1ft x 1ft for better quality aluminum. Perhaps you or other members would be interested in trying to make optical breadboards for cheap.

Got some images of this mammoth heat sink for you guys who have purchased this host. As you can see, the aixiz is a very nice and tight fit. You really don't even need a set screw, but they have one just in case. The front is polished like so....I don't bother polishing the whole thing since only the front will be visible. These are imaes with the entire aixiz module inserted into the heat sink.

I've almost got the first 10 heat sinks finished. All goes well i should have them all done by thursday night, and will ship everything out friday morning.

Those are definitely some big heatsinks! Should work out great for another one of my 445 builds!

Oh and about the clicky, do you know if they are forward or reverse clicky? :thanks:

I didn't get a chance to check with the first one. I'll let you know on the clicky as soon as they get here.

well if tripyamine doesn't respond by the time they are ready to ship then his will go back up for sale. I've got about 15 more coming to me and the seller is going to try and get mee more. I'm also looking into other hosts which will run about about the same price. On cell right now so excuse crap grammar

I got an extra one in the mail today from a seperate purchase. It's yours if your want it silver. I'll pm you.
I had thought i was getting all silver hosts. The package contained 10 silver, and 10 black....
I'm assuming people will like the black ones better.
Bah things are starting to get confusing trying to keep tracking of everyone.

If you ordered a host, shoot me a PM on whether you'd prefer black or silver. It's no guarantee as people who bought first will get priority (I'll give you priority silvershot, so take a pick)

I haven't even lit one of these things up. They are 14 of those crap LED's in them.....i always send those damn LED's to the trash lol
