Default FS: Cyonics (Uniphase) Argon (488nm) SOLD

Thank you for your inquiries. *This laser is now SOLD

I got the Cyonics unit I was working on all lined out. *This is a nicely matched set of a 2201-20SLE box-type laser and a 2101-20SLE PSU. *This is a single line (488nm) laser. *I have the PSU jumpered so that it is in "light mode." *In light mode, the output is controlled with the potentiometer on the face of the PSU. *You can adjust it from idle (about 4mW) up to about 30mW at full power. *If you want to set it up for current control, you should be able to get even more out of it. *I will send instructions on how to do that with the unit. *I will also email a copy of the user manual for this to the buyer. *In order to get this one laseing, all you will have to do is *get a high volume fan and a short piece of dryer vent hose, and plug the PSU into the wall. *This PSU uses 115V. *It is offered here for $200 plus shipping. *The unit weighs 25 pounds BEFORE packaging, so you can get an idea of the shipping cost.

Here it is:

You can see the potentiometer, the jumpers, and where the fan will need to be connected.

The beam shot

This has a nice color and brightness. *

Peace,
dave

Thanks for the offer, but I am a visible laser light enthusiast. I have fun with the beams and spots. I am not a burner or engraver. Nothing wrong with being a burner or engraver. I am just not one.

Did you ever sell your yellow HeNe?

Peace,
dave

Argon ion lasers are "air cooled." *The plasma in the tube generates significant heat. *In order to keep the laser cool you have to move alott of air over the tube. *The dryer vent hose connects to the back of the unit and to the fan. *The fan sucks cool air through the unit. *If you look at the picture, you will see a smaller "box" on top of the larger "box." *You can see at the back my black vent hose connected. *On the other side of the laser from the PSU, you can see part of my fan housing. *

The air coming off of the laser can get as warm as the air from a hair dryer. *That's why you will sometimes hear us refer to gas lasers as "room heaters."

Many larger, more powerful gas lasers have to use circulating water or even coolant to dissipate the heat they generate.

Peace,
dave

Thanks,
Kristopher
Yes it is TEM00. It has a very dim "ghost" a few degrees off at 11 o'clock so you could probably be able to increase the output by a minor mirror adjustment if you are up to that. However, the beam is nice. It had not been run for quite some time. To get the gas pressure back down to where it should be I ran it for a 4 hours run and then repeated a two hour run the next day. It fires up first click now and holds steady.

Peace,
dave
