For sale is one custom-built 8x 375mw Blu-Ray (405nm) in a Pocket Mini host with FlexDrive, 405-G-1 lens and EzFocus adapter.

Built around a year ago by the man himself, Darkarmyofone.

The laser has seen hardly any use, spending all the time tucked safely away in a drawer. It has not even gone though one CR123A battery during its time in my posession.

The laser burns anything it gets its rays on, be it skin, paper (even white) or balloons.

I purchased the laser from Dark for $375 and I'm willing to sell it for $250 including worldwide shipping.

I'm afraid you might have trouble selling this one considering you post count, rep, and most important, who built it.

I haven't heard one good thing about his builds.

You might have a better chance using a middle man on this sell. Try contacting a well respected vet. I would suggest PMing Daguin, I could be mistaking but I believe he has helped other LPF members who have got some bad builds by darkarmyofone by re-building them.

If the laser uses all pre-made quality parts, I don't see how it can be a "bad" build. It's not hard to solder a few places and turn a set screw on a heatsink. However, I completely agree that almost no one here would risk sending $250 to someone they don't really know, especially with such a post count and no rep. I second the idea that you really should use a middle man. Some people may trust a $20 transaction or maybe even $50 with a new member, but $250 I don't think anyone would.

Alexizupinhea, you should know that Tyler aka Darkarmyofone sold 6x as 8x br.

I've seen some pretty bad solder joints. IIRC, someone took apart a DAoO job and reported that the solder joints were awful.

It takes practice.

Thanks for backing me up guys.

I didn't make that post to kill this sale, I did it to help. I know most of the members around at that time know whats up but it also was to serve the new members who know nothing of Tyler's history.

I wasn't around went all the Tyler stuff happened (glad I wasn't) but I've read enough to know some of it, and it wasn't pretty.

I suggested Dave because I had read he had helped some LPF members who had bought some of Tyler's builds by fixing them.

I remember him being around too, but I never checked the threads with him aside from B/S/T sections. I saw he left and I remember at first I thought it was because of FDA issues, but then later found out he was banned off.

Thanks for the history lesson though :). I knew he got banned off, but didn't realize he was such a scammer.

On second thought, I think I'll keep this laser. I had no idea about the whole Tyler drama, I never would have thought that a year later, the name of someone who was once very respected would be mixed with shit like that.

Anyhow, as I have no way to confirm or prove the specs of that laser, and while I wouldn't hesitate shipping it off to a middleman, doing so can be very pricey considering my location and postage costs. So let's just say that I've decided to keep the laser for... sentimental reasons :)
