How difficult would adding a focus head (for easier focusing of the Aixiz lens and reduction of burnt fingers ) be to this fine host of yours?
I was extraordinarily interested in your apollo kit as my first flashlight host laser. I was sad to see it when you got the wrong hosts twice :cryyy:
I'll start taking orders now. I'm going to make a batch of heat sinks tomorrow and will pick up hosts on Saturday at Menard's. So the orders will ship on Saturday, and people will be able to choose between red, black, and silver hosts.
I'll be packaging them up tonight and in the morning. I'm hoping fedex will delivery my poly bags. I like to stick the bubble mailers inside them because the adhesive labels stick to them like crazy, and they are very hard to rip open...makes me feel better about the packages making it to their destinations.
Put me down for a black and a red one. I can PP you tonight if you PM your info before I crash in a couple hours or when I wake up at o'dark-thirty (0530) to get ready for work.
aypal: for one black and one red host. Now the $64k question is do I build my 6x in one of these or wait for the other host you're selling to become available.... Decisions, decisions. Of course it's a moot point until my DX order finally shows up since I don't have any 18650s yet although I could use AAAs for now. Sometimes this hobby is frustrating :banghead:
These hosts look really nice and for $20 they're a steal. I don't think they'll last too long.
they usually go pretty quickly. People are more apt to buy when they are ready to be shipped out. After the cost of the host and shipping, people are only paying about $9 for the heat sink. This sink is pretty big too. I believe DTR said it takes a little over 6 minutes to start feeling a 1600mW 445nm warm up in this host.
I don't even know if I am going to finish those cree kits. They are such a pain in the butt with the mods required to make them function as focusable head kits. Plus I am pretty busy on top of these things and i've got 250 of the blue hotlight hosts on the way....bad thing is i already modded all the stock pills so they no longer function as focusable flashlights....
I'm also going to be making copper heat sinks for the Cree Aurora 18650 host within the next couple days. I don't have any hosts available but i think $15-20 for a copper heat sink and people can order their own host from dx for $10.90, they should sell quite nice
Just got mine and its nicer than I expected. Seems sturdy and the heat sink is nice and large so its great for a 445nm build. I think its by far the nicest kit around that can be had for under $40 and its only $20. Mohrenberg if you keep selling kits like these at these reasonable prices ill keep buying them.
Good to hear it made it to you. Sorry for the mix up with the package hiding in my car for a couple of days.
As for the quality, They are certainly heavy duty. They aren't the coolest looking but if you want sturdy and massive heat sinking they are a great deal.
I just got back up from the basement. I got everything made for this batch of 10. 7 of which are at this time still available. They last 7 are all silver.
no big deal just glad to have it now. Im waiting on a module and then ill assemble it either with a 1.5A 445 or a 300mW red and post some pictures here. Looks like it will be a very easy build with all the room in this host!
