Ohh. I would've loved to find this thread a bit earlier lol, personally I love skylasers' products, even after the issues I had getting my portable, and their glasses are a no no. But their lasers seem to be high quality and my "150" portable is much higher, I don't have an LPM and they didn't test it, but it's a beast. -I also can't wait until they come out with their 473nm pointers!!! :drool:

You are right, IR technically is completely invisible to the naked eye, that's why 808nm technically is Near-IR, but it's just easier to call it IR. For most general purposes 808nm wouldn't be visible to us, but when we concentrate a lot of it to a tiny dot our eyes end up picking up some of it.

hey ya, i was surprised that no one jumped on this one, when i checked back on it and saw 11 replies i thought i lost it but i got lucky! ive been wanting an 808nm, but even if you didnt have a need for it a $200 laser for $80 and i get to test it before i pay, WOW now thats a sick deal! Thanks flordiaguy cant wait to get it in:beer:

Laser arrived today! love it! didnt get to test as long as i wanted to but so far i got a cont. output of 198mW with a peak of 210mW and that was barley warmed up, cant wait to test it warmed up at full duty cycle! Pics and review comming soon!
Floridiaguy please send me your address so i can send out the money order!

Wow, dude, with brand new 1.5v enrgzr lithiums, warmed up, this baby peaked at 280.7mW!!!! I tried to take a pic but my shitty camera cant pick up the LPM screen.
tested with Andover holography LPM-1

EDIT: just peaked at 291.2mW

what would you do with an IR laser if you cant see the beam or dot?

you cant see the beam, but you can deffinetly see the dot(up close). and 808nm IR appears a bright bluish color on camera and videos, plus its great for burning, and special effects.
