Re: FS:price drop--M140 445nm diodes

There is no better day than the current! Do you have a decent soldering iron? If so, you can build your own very easily. I bet you could put together a 1.5+ watt 445nm laser for $100 or less. I'll help you if you need a little guidance to get started.

Costs about $60 to build a >1W.
$70 for a 1.8W

You can build a 3W for about $100.

Which one. He listed three. I like the bliztbuck driver. Easy to set current on and has a bunch of cool features

What Moh said is true. Doesn't cost that much to build and it's way more fun than buying. Even if you don't think you are quite ready yet you can always pick up a diode for later. Moh is offering a great deal on just add diode and lens at his site and one of them only costs $20. Couldn't resist due to price and bought one myself.

Yea I've been amazed at the lack of interest. Maybe if I offered a few pressed into modules with wires?

yup that right there^ thats why i pmed you, i dont have a vice and dont feel comfortable yet with the diodes, i feel like i would probably break it. I bet if more user friendly options come onto the market, more people will build again :) also i'll send the payment like we talked about

Re: FS:price drop--M140 445nm diodes

I can only have so many m140 builds!!! how many do you have left? I have 3 m-140 builds right now!!! why does everyone want modules and wires? thats no fun.. i damn near sheared off the pins of my first m-140 build with my initial ghetto method!
edit: its actually very hard to break a diode while pressing in If you have the tool.. unless you have a hydraulic press you will know when to stop.

People aren't really interested in building themselves.

That's why I offer the kits, and build as much as i legally can...because they sell a lot better than stand-alone components.

It doesn't get much easier than connecting 2 wires.....and I even made a video tutorial to do that lol.

Yea, I was figuring with batteries, charger, and safety glasses. These prices are getting insanely low to get into building lasers. Like they said, it can be as simple as connecting two wires and tightening the set screw. Then when you're feeling a little more comfortable, you can start doing more of the process yourself. I'm really having to exercise my self control to not buy more of these diodes and some of Moh's kits.

nah man. Give us your money :D

Edit: Are you Taylor M.? If so, I threw a little extra into your package before I shipped it. :D

Maybe I'll snag me a few modules then, see if anyone wants them.

Moh, do you still have your lathe, by chance?

I "have" it. but it need another $150 control board. Those things seem to get killed easy, as this would be my 3rd one.

Re: FS:price drop--M140 445nm diodes

Well those kits you are selling (noticed there's a third one now) should be flying off the shelves at your prices. Combine with Crazy diodes and what more can you ask for.
There's a gap now between builders and buyers besides for lots of members selling all or most of their stuff. Definately tired of sellers pleading something like "come on guys I need to sell this stuff" but not making an effort to actually sell by lowering prices and good desriptions with CLEAR pictures and not dark ones so potential issues can be hidden. Its like they think the rest of us have some kind of obligation to buy.
I've also found that most of the deals I've gone for required me to do some rebuilding when i inspect them although most claimed they were good builders. Ive learned to take that into account before making an offer.

That's me! Thanks! Don't worry, you will be getting my money regularly. I enjoy building the lasers probably more than I do playing with them, so it will probably be tons of individual items rather than kits. But I might have to buy a kit or two at that crazy price. Lol.

Re: FS:price drop--M140 445nm diodes

Set myself up messing around today to need another A140 from you. I shouldn't do it but I can't stand units sitting around unfinished. Going to drive it with a Mohgasm I've had for some time not doing anything and it should be over 1/2 Watt which is fine because I'm going to put it in Mohs 501b with the cone (silver unit) where it won't have as much cooling. Made a custom heat-sink for it.

Side note:
Took almost a month to get a package of a few things I needed from Fasttech today and when I order from them I usually throw in a few 532nm 5V modules. After my usual setting of .43A they measured 119, 123 and 128mW;)

Finished a Pman custom heat-sink and paint job with one of your A140 and drivers today. 3 more to go with 1 A140 and 2 M140 Crazy diodes and a few of Mohs hosts.
