THESE ARE ALL SOLD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST

I have wanted to play with these little diodes for awhile.  Unfortunately, they were always just a bit too expensive for my intended purpose.  I found some for a more reasonable price on ebay.  The seller had three "batches" of them.  I really wanted some so I bid on all three batches to help ensure I got some.  I got all of them  ::)  As a result, I have way too many for me to use.  So you get the benifit.

These are brand new SLD63518262 diodes.  The pins are long and untouched.  They are 5.6mm so they fit in the AixiZ module.  They are case negative so the pinout is the same as the red burners that you are used to.

They are 635nm diodes.  If you haven't played with 635 before, it is more "orange" than the standard 660nm red didoes you usually see.  That shift in wavelength also makes the dot noticeably "brighter" than 660nm.  The dot can be seen more easily, so it "looks" brighter than 660nm .  The bottom line here is that a pointer made with a 635nm diode is brighter than a pointer made with a 660nm diode.

These diodes put out 5mW @ 50mA.  You will NOT get a "burner" out of them but they are great pointers.

They are offered here at 5 diodes for $10, shipped in the US

Able to see the pics of the beams?

I don't have one set up in a module right now. If I get a chance later today, I'll make one up.

Peace,
dave

This is an AWESOME price for 5 535nm diodes. Normally you pay $30 for just ONE diode. Nice deal here dag!

Well you CAN find them for less than $30 on eBay, but not this much less ;)

I'm just charging what I paid.

Re: FS:  635nm 5mW Diodes

If you haven't sold these I'll take them, lowest price I've seen. I need some diodes to learn with that I won't cry about killing if I mess up along line, PM sent.

;D  I have 80 of them left

I'm not likely to run out soon ;)

Yes. They are a standard 5.6mm can.

I think he meant the stock Aixiz driver that comes in the 5mW 650nm modules. If so, these are $2 diodes so try it to see if it works! ;D

My eye and mind skipped right over the word "driver" without even seeing it. Probably because I have no idea what the "regular AixiZ driver" is. They need ~50mA.

Re: FS:  635nm 5mW Diodes

If they are a lil orange looking, then I'll get. You can't see the beam at night right? (can hardly see it w/ an open can 200mW red)

Here's a nice color comparison of 635nm vs. 650nm picture done by Benm

nice_beams_1.jpg

635 is more orangeish and more visible. Actually most small "pointers" tend even farther toward 660nm

Re: FS:  635nm 5mW Diodes

Hey Dave, I'd like 5 of them. Never seen 635nm and I figure $10 is worth seeing it :)

PM sent.

thanks,

Re: FS:  635nm 5mW Diodes

damn, pretty nice looking.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Output Power: 5.0mW typical,7.0mW maximum.
Wavelength: 637nm typical, 645nm maximum. RED
Operating Voltage: 2.2 Volts typical
Threshold Current: 30mA typical
Operating Current: 40mA typical
Monitor Current: 0.3mA typical.
Operating Temperature: -10 to 60 deg.C.
Package: TO-18, 5.6mm diameter base.

So, is it safe to run at 50mA even though it says 30mA and 40mA (idk the difference between threshold and operating). Also, it says operating voltage is 2.2V, so I'm just wondering, how did u drive this (what type of circuit)? If anybody knows, can I just use an LM317 and a 25ohm resistor (would give out 50mA according to V=IR since the LM317 uses a reference voltage of 1.25V)? I mean, this is looking pretty sweet, I'm actually considering getting my own set of 100 diodes for $150.
