I am starting this thread so I can keep track of who is interested in buying one of these hosts once I am finished making the 10 of them. I am setting it up this way as I am not intending on making any more of these after this batch (at least not at this price) after this batch is complete. So I don't want anyone to miss out. The remaining kits, if any after these are all done will be up here for sale as well.

What you get:

2D Maglite body tube (color of your choice (extra cost may apply))
2D Maglite Switch already having bulb section cut off for easy access to solder leads
3 Diode Heatsink with 3 6-32 set screws
3 1/16" allen wrenches
Driver Heatsink
Bolt and washer to attach driver heatsink to 3 diode heatsink
Contact Board and Spring
End Cap (Cover)

Price: $300

Add the option of the heatsink part being polished: $20
Finning option: $20
Anodizing all parts except battery tube : $60
Anodize Battery Tube : $35

For color I have black, grey, silver, blue, and red. Colors are limited as I have 12 of the 2D maglites in stock, and would prefer to not have 10 left once these are all sold because everyone wanted blue or something.

If you want any other modifications or options, feel free to contact me and we can work something out.

ARGLaser has also offered to build these into a 2 9mm build with a red laser for targeting if anyone is interested.

Just want to add that I will likely be making the heatsink on these a bit wider, but the end cap will likely remain the same diameter,

Re: 3 Diode Host Kits (Reserve yours now)

sign me up.

Noted.

I'd also like to mention for all who are interested, that the heatsink portion may be made with a larger diameter and fins added, while the endcap and sled will remain same diameter, so there will be a transition there. I'll try to make the fin trough diameter the height of the end cap. This isn't set in stone yet as I have not yet started making the heatsinks. I am currently working on the driver heatsinks and the endcaps.

Re: Limited FS: 6 Watt+ 3 Diode Host Kits (Reserve yours now)

Adding a $20 discount for anyone who signs up by the end of November, making it $180+shipping.

I am in....

Noted! :)

Also, updates, I have 6 end caps complete as well as all of the driver heatsinks, excluding the thread hole they need in them yet. I am currently prepping some Maglites.

Polishing option available for $10.

Also, may offer tail cap modifications and battery spacers to fit 2 26650s if there is interest.

Also, ARGLaser has offered to build these into a 2 9mm build with a red laser for targeting if anyone is interested.

Pictures added to first post.

Received the PM.

I can build one of these for anyone who wants, using any combination of PBS's and dichros. (dual 405, dual 635, RGB ect.)

Can you explain a little clearer how the diodes are arranged in this design.

Thanks

The three diodes are arranged in a row, so that the beams come out parallel to each other. Then using mirrors, PBS's and dichros the beams can be combined to come out the center hole.

Terrible ASCII drawing follows:

| | |
| | |
O O O

O is the module, | is the beam. Then they can be combined using any method.

Any pics of this host in actual use? The build thread was just that.. building.. with no actual functionality..

Very interested.. but I'd like to see this work first..

I'm working on one at the moment, for another member here, but it is a long process. It took me 9 months to build my dual. (Most of that was figuring out the host design and getting it made, which is already done here)
I have most of the parts ordered or in the process of ordering. I expect to have a working unit by around February (depends on speed of shipping [It will likely get caught in the Holiday backlog] and how soon my favourite optics supplier gets PBS cubes back in stock ;)

It essentially works the same way as the one I did here, but with another diode hole.

It's the exact same concept as that, and I have shown it is possible; so there is no doubt this would work.

Trust me, I want to get one working just as much as you. I have a whole batch of machine parts coming on Wednesday which will allow me to make these heatsinks quite well. I wanted to wait until I had the proper tooling to make quality parts as these heatsinks are relatively large, and require quite a bit of different machining operations. Hope to have the first one out by the weekend.
