Maybe 9W+ with tri 9mm diode setups?

Anyways, good build kits!

Doubtful, remember to account for optical loss on the mirrors (2 Mirrors for each beam) About 15-1% will be lost on the mirrors, usually around 5% with 10$ broadband mirrors if they are used perfectly. (3W * .95) * .95 = 2.7W (Not accounting for any other loss)

I lost about 10% with the mirror on my 4.4W, and that would lover the power to 2.5W per on this.

Even 8W is too much to expect from these.

You can get some nice Dichroic Mirrors from Edmund or Thorlabs (Not to be confused with dichroic filters) that reflect a lot more light, but they are expensive.

very very nice kit... and the first dual built by ARGlaser is amazing ;)

Thanks! That one was really one of a kind, I loved the small beam from using a PBS. Knife edging wont have as desirable results; large beam, beam splitting ect.

Yep, I know :) ...I'm also thinking of applying a beam expander to optimize more the beam profile.

You must take some beam shots with that if you do it :D That's would look amazing

If anyone wants to know where to get the optical components for the laser check out Stanwax laser entertainment. The guy who runs the shop, Rob, has amazing customer service. The optics he sells has amazing transmissions for budget optics. The 12.7mm 445nm PBS cubes just got back in stock, so get them while they last ;)
This may sound like a bit of an advertisement, but I endorse them so much because of the amazing service I have received in the past.
Stanwax Laser Shop - Optical Components

Also, if you are in Australia check out LaserShowParts, they are based in Australia, faster shipping and supporting a local buisness. Dave who runs LaserShowParts also provides superb customer service. They don't have the same selection as Stanwax, but they carry most of the basic optics.
Lasershow Parts

I just bought a lot of components today to build a triode (Two 9mm 445nm, One 500mW Mits, for a smaller beam profile) for another member here, it's nice to being able to do a one stop shop for all the optics at Stanwax.

I'm super exited to be able to build another multi-diode handheld!

wow these are very impressive. I believe that these will be the blue lasers of the future reaching 5w+ in a handheld laser :))) Someone should start building these kits and selling them on here id buy one

I can build you one, but I wont sell them pre-built, it's a rather large investment. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Greetings, Mrcrouse

While I will eventually build one for myself, I know better than to attempt a build like this one for a first. I do believe you mentioned about a fully assembled one of the 3 diode hosts and was curious if that was possible and what the cost might be for that ?

Thanks,
Moe

Send me a PM, I can assemble them. It's not cheap though; each diode will be 50-100$ depending on what you want + hundreds in optics.

So correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't any beam combination going on right. It's just 3 separate beams? If that's the case then is it at all possible to combine beams with this, maybe a PBS or dichro set up. Or does the layout just make that impossible.

Im sure the beams will be combined just like in Arglasers's 4.4w build.

They are not separate. The milled part at the front is to give you room to glue down optics to combine the beams.

I think it is a wonderful Laser design and a most advanced set up, I want one of the kits or I would REALLY love to be able to buy a completed laser since my so called friend stole my other ones :( Have you had any further progress with the unit? I sent both Mrcouse and ARGLaser a PM to get the specifics.... I am slo looking for a 500mW plus 405nm laser with full copper heatsink and 405 G1 to replace the one that was stolen any Ideas or help Please?

I'm still working on the first one right now, and hopefully it will be done soon... Due to the amount of time spent in these, I may be raising the price to $300, it is taking a lot more time than I had originally intended...

It is all packed up and ready to ship! I can now start working on whoever is next in line. The new price is now $300 though.
