For $30 it's really not a bad deal, IF it's ok. Also I highly doubt this laser is IR filtered. Hopefully I'm wrong.

That being said, I'm kind of tempted to pull the trigger on one, but I'm waiting for another laser already.

If there is anyone within 1-2 hours of NYC with an lpm, I'd love to get my lasers measured, including this one. So far my collection includes 6, with a 7th in the mail.

Unfortunately my other option is to hope that some more Radiant Alpha's come on the market. Based on observations, this thing is definitely over 100mw, but aside from that, it's impossible to say.

I`m new to this so please bear with me. I just came across this "Tmart 200mW 532nm 302 Flashlight Style Green Laser Pointer (1*16340) $17.89". so I ordered one but it seems too cheap has anyone got any info on this item as any advice will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

For someone from england, you have a very lousy sense for punctuation. Do I sense some Tmart VS Dino competition here :D?

@Walshy,

You must understand the curious nature of your post. If people on this forum are suspicious it is only because we all want to maintain the highest integrity possible.

Ideally you should introduce yourself first in the welcome section, after that post the same question in General, Reviews, or even Green Lasers section as an independent thread. Tacking it onto a long thread about another similar laser is not the best approach, hence the suspicion.

200mw 532nm laser for $17.89 seems very iffy. Quality from this company as well as other similar ones is always questionable, so it has more to do with luck that anything else.

That being said, from companies that do have a good reputation, a similar laser would cost at least 5 times as much. So it's a judgement call on your part. For the price it's not much of a risk, so try it out, and post a review.

And Hey! Welcome to the forum.

Hiya
I did try to start a new thread about this item but alas I couldn`t work out how. Sorry if I broke protocols by adding on this thread but you guys seem to know the score on such things, also I wanted to let you know about this cheap laser
Thanks

@walshy

Please do not be offended, but if you can't figure out how to post a thread, do you think playing around with lasers is a good idea?

Please try to stay safe, get safety googles for yourself. 200mw can be very dangerous to your eyes.

Hey heres an Idea instead of the condescension why not help by explaining how to start a thread and what are these "safety googles" of which you speak

@walshy

There is a whole section on this forum dedicated to safety. I'm sorry if i seem condescending, but that's only because it doesn't seem like you did any research on this forum.

Here's the link to the safety section, I can't overstate it enough, how important it is that you use lasers safely: http://laserpointerforums.com/f53/

Personally I use and recommend these safety goggles: Eagle Pair® Laser Safety Goggles for blue and green lasers.

As for starting a new thread.... when you are viewing threads.. not replying or already in a thread, top left corner of the forum box... New Thread button?:thinking:
