Replied to PM, i got loads of sh*tty AAA batteries lol but ill find some expensive Energizer ones from somewhere and send them with it. Ill let you know when its sent

thanks, I'll do my best to meter it and return it in as little time as possible

Energizer lithiums seem to work best in lasers, I have a pair that have lasted 4 months in my 5mW green and have only started needing replacement in the last week or two, opposed to alkalies which only last me about 4 days :p

IR diodes are usually multimode, and therefore are difficult to focus. You tend to get a small line rather than a dot which takes a shit on the power density.

Either way, I don't see this being much over 200mW. I have an actual 500mW pen (from CNI, metered at 430mW) that toasts a bit better than that.

whoever has the 4W argon ion in this thread, that was probably the most amazing laser video ive seen in forever. (well, of a visible spectrum laser) I wish we could somehow make that handheld and pulsed....
