I've recently come into a few handheld 1Watt 808nm lasers from Sky_lasers that need to be moved.. the lasers have all the safety features needed for FDA approval as well as being focusable.

Wavelength is 808nm
output power >1000mw
operates on single 18650 battery with included charger.
Metal carry case included.

Asking price. $200 + shipping

Beam shots? lol jk. $250? thats pretty high for an IR. As you could build one for <$150 if im not mistaken.

I think it's not too bad, but with 1W 445's messing around with the whole market, most people would probably prefer a 1W visible blue over this.

actually, it's not as simple as you may think.. plus these retail now for $600 on the website.
808nm IR Portable Lasers | SKYlasers

If you have a better offer shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it. I think $250 is AWESOME for a burning beast. granted the 445's are monsters and fairly cheap, but this isn't a 445. It's a c-mount with correction and focusing optics. You can't get a 1W c-mount (new) for under $100

Hello Ken,

I'm just curious about the uses of IR lasers. Since the beam is "invisible", is it only used to burning? What could you possibly do with an IR laser of this type? Thanks!

burning is pretty much the only use for this with the exception of shooting the beam into some crystals and getting some green. You can as well see the beam with NIV glasses or a webcam.

viperx1101 maybe you´re able to post some pics when you received it :)

The beam is visible in the dark with steam/fog, right? (for the human eye, not cam)

DJNY, I am still waiting on a pm from Kenom, but if I do get this from him (who am I kidding, I'll probably get it ;) ) I will definately post some pics, probably here.

Also, the visibility question is one which I asked Kenom about. I have not dabbled much (at all) in IR LDs and this 808nm might be my first one. So I definately might need to research this for a few days, permitting that these won't be gone like hotcakes!!!

For most of us IR lasers are not spectacular enough, I think you won´t have to worry that you miss this deal here. Also they are very dangerous. I´ll wait for a good 3-5W one :p
