awillis,

I wish I had seen these beautiful hosts before I went to Mrcrouse for my next host...and, now I have that side-clciky clone AND a bad ass UltraFire host on it's way from China.

If I had one extra red cent to budget, I'd scoop one of those up from you. As it is, I currently have shipping:
1 MXDL host from Mcrouse
1 455nm and 1 650 diodes coming from DTR (housed and lensed)
1 UltraFire KF-T60 from DX
1 very reasonable, but expensive near 100gr Cu heatsink from Flaminpyro (to build)
1 1.25A benboost from Daguin.
1 500mA boost driver for the 650nm.

So, you can see that I have no room for one of these. The fiance is near killing me now. But, my friends are getting bitten by the laser bug as the witness my exploits. If any of them want to bite, I will sent them straight to you!

Well I will probably still have them. Unless I use the
For builds but that unlikely because my laser production has slowed down as of right now. I've been buying inexpensive flashlights and selling them as kits with battery's and chargers to help fund my laser hobby. Those m140 and 405 diodes aren't cheap so I ant just buy a bunch of them unless I plan on selling some, and it doesn't help I spent $500+ on the laserbtb group buy less then a month ago.

I know how you feel, I have tons of kits in stock, and they hardly sell. At the prices I have them listed for, I'm basically giving them away. Same with these kits.

Right on but the nice thing is that you can still make some money off machining sinks for people that send them to you. For now I'm going to slow down on my host buying beside for when I need them no need for having extra stock that I could spend on other things.

Mrcrouse, you can thank awillis for giving me the final nudge to buy your MXDL kit. I am excited about it, and want to thank you for the price. I'm sure you're not making any money on it. But, I'll send you whatever good karma and future clients I can to you.

awillis, if I find someone in my crowd who wants an awesome side-clicky, I will send them to you.

Yo willis I may have to ease your troubles a tad by taking one off your hands if you still have them. They look like quite nice hosts and I am seeking out a side clicky so these fit the bill. I hear that its possible to mod the tail cap to accept 26650 cells. I'd like to pop in two FeiLong 26650 5000mAh cells so if this is true than I'd like to get one. Hit me up in PM if you want to talk further.

Bump for you, if I didn't have two MS-V4's coming I would buy one of these for a PL-style build.

If you are looking for a great host for a 1st build, this would be a fine choice!
It has an extra large heat sink, plenty of room for the driver and wiring, and a nice side clicky switch.
I built my 1st laser, using this same style host, and it turned out great. An easy build! :yh:

I have to agree, it's a great looking host and heat sink! I especially like the side clicky. It just feels more natural in a bit larger host. I just happened to purchase a blue one of these last wk., for a "future 445 build". For now, being new to the hobby, I'll be doing more reading & learning first. Hope the sale goes well!
how do i go about purchasing one of those hosts

Hi justen, welcome to LPF!
This is an old thread, but as to your question about purchasing one of these hosts, I bought mine from a Kohl's department store, they tend to keep them in stock during the Christmas Holiday season, but I've seen them at other times also.
Early in the season, they would try and get $20 for them, but they always went on sale, and then clearance for around $10.
They do make a pretty easy build, and the side switch is always nice IMO. Here is a link to my build using this host.

If you can't find any of these, they are similar in style to Maglite flashlights.

Good luck in your search! :D

Edit: awillis2589 had a sale thread for these hosts, but he hasn't been on here since 12/6/13.
