why exactly 245mW ? :)
I would not recommend mini maglite modification for such power - DEFINITELY NOT!!.

PM me for high powered reds. I got some cooking in my shop.

How much for a 245mW 650nm laser diode setup, installed in module & mini-maglite?
Thanks!

I can do $50 if you'd like, pm me your paypal email and i'll send a money request. Thanks

I'm going to try to put a resistor / cap inside it soon, that'd be a little more work and I'm not sure if it will even fit in the minimaglite, so until i figure that out (and get a soldering gun) i can only sell them with the diode hooked straight up to battery. i've used mine for a few months now and only turn it on long enough to pop a balloon or whatever and turn it off and it's worked fine, so i guess just make sure to not turn it on for long and it'll (*hopefully*) be fine. Just FYI.

If you keep on selling those minimags without any regulation you are going to get a LOT of pissed off people that buy your flashlight only to have a laser that dies after 30 seconds of use, I REALLY do not think you should be selling those things without protection.
But to answer your question there you can easily fit a resistor and a small cap inside the Aixiz module which will fit in the minimag.

I seriously second all of that !! ;) :)

You like my idea huh? So how much for just a diode again? I got a minimag mod here with no diode, I got a soldering iron, cap, and resistor, I'll take picks and let you know how to do it.

Well, I'd like to see how this turns out. I've read like a thousand times about people who want to fit a cap and a resistor in a minimag, but never actually did it because other flashlights have been found to be better for modding.

As soon as I get a diode I will be doing it. I may run up to the store now for a dvd drive.

Re: FS: 180mW 650nm Laser Diodes - $25

just went up to radioshack and got a bunch of resistors, 45uF caps, and a soldering gun. i'll be modifying like a madman today and tomorrow. just FYI to the people who were suggesting i don't sell completed lasers w/o them. :)

you should have used a 10ohm tantalum, a 47uf will be impossible to fit i would think

I just got 2 diodes fom Senkat and one is outputing 260mW max, 245-250 avg. at 290mA !! I used it last night for hours ( up to 3-4minutes at the time)

What are you measuring the output with? I find it very odd you are getting 260mw's with only 290ma's of current.

Re: FS: 180mW 650nm Laser Diodes - $25

alright so i think i made a somewhat more stable laser, according to pSpice the diode should be receiving 300mA when I'm using a 10 ohm resistor in series with the lead and postive votlage. any comments or recomendations? It was pretty hard to fit it in the minimag, i got a couple 47uF caps but it would be a very tight fit.

edit: i just realized that the diode will draw some current as well. im gonna modify my pspice.

First of all, 300ma to a 12x/16x burner diode is death waiting to happen! Using a 10ohm resistor will only put about 50ma into the diode though. You have to figure in for voltage drop of the laser diode in that circuit. A ~3 ohm resistor will power your diode with about 170ma, which is a safer current to run your diodes with.

is the voltage drop 0.7 V like a normal diode? Thanks for your help, i took an electronics class a couple semesters ago and am kinda rusty. i have some 2.2 ohm resistors and will try and use that instead. thanks for your help

On the DVD burner diodes, the voltage drop is around 2.5v, so a 2.2 ohm resistor will put about 230ma into the diode.

So you like my idea you seen in the other thread so much you steal it and then don't answer my question!? You bought 47uf caps then take my 10uf suggestion and still no response for price on a diode pressed into a housing.
