Default FS:  22mW "Milos" Blu-ray (SOLD)

Thank you for your interest. This laser is now sold

I feel like "Crazy Gideon" here. It is amazing how fast this stuff piles up.

This one was the hardest to pull out of the drawer to sell. First, because it is a "Milos" build (the last one from the third generation). Second, because with what has been happening with blu-ray lasers in the last few months, I am taking a major loss on it. I decided to go ahead with selling it because I do NOT use it. It is a great little unit, but it is just sitting in the drawer! I figure somebody out there, who really wants a bu-ray but can't afford what is being offered, could have one. I enjoy my blu-ray's more than any of my other lasers.

Anyway, offered here is a Milos build 405nm laser. It is putting out 22mW. It uses the PS3 diode. It is powered by a single 9V battery. It utilizes an adjustable wheel to turn on. It is "labeled" as only 14mW, but that was done before we discovered that the Lasercheck wasn't giving a true measurement to the 405nm lasers. It is putting out a steady 22mW. I am offering it here for [s]$100 [/s]shipped in the US.

Make me an offer It seems such a shame to have a nice unit like this relegated to the back of the drawer because we are all about burning power now. If you will use it, I will be pretty generous

Here it is:

Here's the light:

Here's its measurement:

If you've never seen the inside of a Milos unit, here it is:

Default Re: FS:  22mW "Milos" Blu-ray

It's crazy what's happening with blu-rays. 4 months ago I bought my first 8-10mw box style blu-ray for $144 shipped. A few months later I bought a 21mw blu-ray from milos for $190. A few weeks ago I bought a MXDL 80mw blu-ray from you for $150 shipped. Now I have 1 blu-ray that sits in the closet collecting dust and another that I rarely use.

I think I'll just stop buying them for a while and see what happens. At this rate people will be selling 6X blu-rays for $250 shipped in 4 months.

I agree. Like I said, this was the hardest one to offer. I paid $200 for it at what we thought was 14mW! Today, for $150 more I have offered 123mW MORE in one of the other threads!! Oh well, if this doesn't sell it will go back in the drawer and become a part of history Maybe I'll put it in the little scanner I got from Laserman and hook a 9V power source to it.

Peace,
dave

Blu-Ray refers to the source of the diode. But yeah 405nm is violet. Blu, not Blue

Well, since everybody KNOWS that blu-ray is violet, they shouldn't IMO. : And blu-ray isn't the color, it is the source of the diode as motorider826 says. Blu-ray is actually a bit misleading, but it sound a lot better than violet-ray. ;D And at least I will always call it blu-ray.

This will be the first, last, and only bump I give this laser.

Make me an offer It seems such a shame to have a nice unit like this relegated to the back of the drawer because we are all about burning power now. If you will use it, I will be pretty generous

Peace,
dave

It is. These Milos built units were very much in demand at the time. They were "cutting edge" and as expensive as the 140mW lasers are now. Milos was part of the vanguard in researching the 405nm diodes. He is still doing some "long burn - high power" research with the 803 diode. His personal life (work and relationship) just doesn't allow him to spend much time on the forums any more.

It's a well built, great working laser. It just doesn't get used anymore. My working blu-ray at home is my 82mW "pocket rocket". At work I have replaced this Milos unit with a "pointer" (with intermittent switch) that only puts out 10mW.

Peace,
dave

Idk what one of these is really worth these days as I'm just getting into lasers but I guess I'll pay anything from $60-80 maybe even a bit more.
