I'll LPM mine when I get it. I usually don't look at the dot of anything over 50mW indoors.

50mW on the ceiling or wall from ~10 feet or so should be fine though.

Have you gotten it in the mail yet?

On mine either the diode burned out or the battery is dead. I don't have a charger yet so hopefully when I get a charger the battery being dead is the problem.


When I click it on I get a very faint dot for a brief period and then it shuts off.

Sounds like the battery is low. I thought I had charged the batteries, but there's a chance the ones needing charged got mixed in with the charged ones.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but from what you're describing I have to agree with Mrcrouse. Try a fully charged battery when you get a charger and see what happens.

I'll post a quick review as well as an LPM reading and IR content% once I get the laser. In my experience so far, 50mW lasers do tend to be on spec, although it's possible to get to that number with different proportion of IR. Post back when you try a fresh/charged battery.
