I'm selling this great 16x burner I just put together.
It is a BDR-209 with a G2 lense, a flexdrive v5 glued into the pill with arctic alumina, aluminum heat sink, and a really cool convoy s2 host. The host holds one 18650 battery (included.)
The driver is set at 600mA and between the heatsink and host, it stays very cool. It should last a long time at this power level. The burning pic is at over 4' burning white paper. This is an awesome laser!!
I've been on this forum for years, and have built and sold many lasers. I have just recently gotten back into the hobby. And I can't believe the power of this thing compared to the old PHR's I used to build!!
I'm asking $105 shipped in the States.

Thanks,
Jon

Nice little burner you got there. 600mAp's should get some long life out of your 209. Best wishes with your sale.

And welcome back to the hobby. :)

Thanks guys!
The price can be negotiated as well. There just wasn't much comparable to price it against.

Ok. This doesn't seem to be getting much attention. Let's drop the price to $105 shipped and I'll also toss in an 18650.

Thanks,
Jon

Nice little burner you've built, morphs!

IMO, you've got it priced well, especially since you've included a battery, shipping, and a G-2 lens, not to mention that good looking Convoy host.
It's only been a couple of days, I don't think you'll have any problems selling baby soon. :)

I would like to see the heatsink. Really like the host. Is there enough room in the battery tube for 2 18350 flat tops?

If it uses a boost driver, it wouldn't matter. Many of these do, so you need to be aware else you destroy the diode.

Never mind. I see that it doesn't.

Your right but this isn't why I'm asking. The 405 would end up in a pen build and I would probably throw a 520 in this host. Blues are great but I have enough burn marks on my walls and shelves. 520 just does it for me. The host looks great.

I don't have any pics of the heat sink, unfortunately. But it's an aluminum "bushing" machined to 19mm. Od. 12mm. Id. And 20.5mm. Long. It's drilled and tapped with a set screw at the halfway point of the modules head. It was a tiny bit small in dia. So it's wrapped with a couple wraps of foil to make good contact with the host. I've ran this quite a bit and it transfers heat very well. As far as the batteries go, I'm not familiar with them. Are they the same or smaller diameter, amd half the length of an 18650? If so, I don't see why they wouldn't fit. If they're a little shorter it would be fine, because there are springs on bother the tail cap and the driver connection ends. And yes. It's a micro flexdrive v5.

Thanks,
Jon

Ok. So I do have button top 16340 and two of them together measure 68.7mm. The host depth from the positive connection to the end of the tube(tail cap side) is 69.3mm. So I would say yes, they will fit. You might have to shorten one or both of the springs though.

Dang man, 105 is a pretty darn good price. The G2 alone was probably 30 bucks! I may buy it soon if no one else does.

Just to clarify, I'm pretty sure 3dlaserbuilder was referring to the arctic alumina adhesive I used to "fix" the driver in place. The way some might read his post would make it seem like I just half assed built this thing. It's a solid laser and I will guarantee the quality.

Thanks,
Jon
