FS: 140 mW blue ray needs repair

Heres whats up with this, I bought this from the UK a couple months ago, put fresh batteries in and it didn't work. So I emailed the guy and he says oh, you got to have 3.5 v AAA's not just regular ones.
Now he tells me sheesh, so of course the only 3.5 v AAA's available I had to order from China, while I was waiting for them like an idiot I unscrewed the unit in the middle, not a good idea I assume because I was greeted with the sight of 2 twisted off wires.

I've done some soldering in my day but am not confident in my ability to repair this but I hated to give up on it so its just been sitting for months.
Should be an easy fix for anyone with even moderate electronic repair abilities.
$40 + $8 tracked Priority shipping for USA.
International considered, I'd rather not, and shipping will be more.

I'll do it for free, you just need to pay shipping. A good guy offered me the same free repair when I started. I can also get it LPM tested for you. My LPM is out at the moment but I'm hoping to have it soon again. This looks like an easy job I want to do. I need the practice. PM, me if you want me to check it out and resolder the wires.

Thanks for the offers guys, right now just looking to move it on and recoup a small portion of my loss, if I change my mind or am unable to sell it I'll keep this in mind

It seems like an easy fix.. but even so, $48 would be too much for me to pay, esp. with a weird looking heatsink like that.

I understand Alexizupinhea, a great deal for some, not so great for others.
You would be taking a slight chance buying this, since I myself cannot guarantee that it will work when wires are fixed - But you'd save on helluva lot and have a nice laser for dirt cheap if the gamble paid off.
The guy I bought it from seems like a stand up guy and knowledgeable, I didn't even consider requesting a refund since this was my fault.
I just wish he would have told me about the need for special batteries in the first place, this error probably would have been avoided.

I'd kick myself if I could reach my own ass, I had no reason to probe into it like that outside of curiosity.

Thanks for the offer Swordofsalvation but I'll pass.
I can perfectly understand someone not wanting to take the risk of buying a $50 brick, then again I'd be taking a risk sending it off into the unknown, not implying you're not a trusty guy, but you know what I'm saying.

You can probably tell I am not very technically inclined with lasers, so I have no idea if this is a stingray. Bought it from a private party in the UK, where he got it from I do not know, and am not in contact with the guy any more.

All you did was jerk it off the driver, I'd fix it if it were mine. You can always switch hosts too.

Well yeah, I'm sure a lot of guys here would fix it if it was theirs, that is the point of this sale.
I don't consider myself to have the expertise to do it, but maybe I'll give it a shot, don't have anything to lose.

Did you buy this from a member on here? Also, how much did you pay?

It looks like the LED reflector was simply spun around to face outward, and the aixiz module was jammed in the center and glued.

If i'm correct with my assumption above, I would love to know who is selling this crap to unsuspecting buyers.

Any info on the components? Which diode is used, or the driver?
