Re: FS: 120mw bluray or 250mw red lasers 60.00 shi

Watch out for the 'look alike' hosts that do not unscrew at the head. I believe that those ones pictured there are like that.

The DX sku 46 host does unscrew at the head like my blue VicLight 'Pocket Pal' host.

I have some of the blue VicLight hosts left if anybody wants one:

yeah i guess someone owed that lady some money....and whoever that person was had bought a tons of these flashlights as some liquidation auction and she took them and some other stuff as payment....

i still haven't gotten the last box of 31 hosts yet :(

and i didn't cut his throat, i had already found her listing....so when i found out that jake had found her also i bought her out.....it was a strategic move.......these hosts are really expensive at wal-mart....
I ment he cut your throat Matt  :) He is selling the same type lasers as you for a cheaper price.

The bad of it is that it doesn't allow anything else than 4.5V at max, but a lavadrive could make the work right?

I believe that's a (3) AAA host, you could always use (2) 10440's and a spacer (or just solder a jumper wire across the third battery slot) and get the 7.4-8.2v needed for a rckstr driver...

And as to looks, that's purely opinion - some people don't mind what it looks like as long as it does what it's supposed to, and thats OK - personally, I just don't want my laser looking like a $3 gas station or Walmart flashlight (then again, that's why my 6X's are all in Krytons, that of course and the superior heatsinking) ;)
They're great hosts, it's just too bad they look like an LED flashlight ... You guys know I can get you the "mini-RPL" hosts with heatsink, etc complete for like $19 if you take 10 or more, right?  ;)

Who cares what they look at xD The only host I would prefer is the one used in the 9 led flashlights sold on DX, especially the blue/purple one, I saw jayrob using these hosts but for the moment I'm gonna enjoy the blu-ray who is really interesting to me and when I get bored of it I'll think in host changing etc :p

13$ for 7 units, seems a great deal :p

I'll spare you guys some grief: DO NOT GET THOSE FLASHLIGHTS!

Before I came across the threads about the hosts from DealExtreme, I ordered a few of those flashlights off eBay. Even the ones that unscrew are terrible quality. The anodize finish is very cheap quality, and the overall feel of the flashlight is very cheap.

A quote from Igor...

"You could use three 3.6V Li-Ions, but when full, their combined voltage is 3x 4.2V = 12.6V. The polarity protection MOSFET is rated for 12V max, so it might be a good idea to put an Si diode in series with the driver input. Then it could work safely off three Li-Ions. And it would stay in regulation over their entire capacity."
