Our avatars often are the first impression we make as a newcomer. Second chances at first impressions are rare. When I saw it I was not inclined to help or get to know you. Lasers can be dangerous and a serious matter. Your avatar shows your immaturity. You may want to give this some serious and mature thought.:whistle:

I believe they were trying to give advice not directly assault your character.

This forum is science based, not just chat based. Also, as was said, there are kids that lurk too. So its not your ordinary forum. In fact the majority of science based forums do not allow swearing, profanity, and in most cases your spelling will be checked. Some forums will even ban you for giving the wrong information, or talking about things they perceive taboo. An example would be to bring up laser pointers on Photonlexicon. Over here its pretty free, and open, but they do expect a small amount etiquette.
