Re: Free: "Wandering box of laser junk" USA only

Well, its is a "laser" junk box, but i dont think anyone would be opposed to other electronics- after all, it'd be awful hard to fill it up with ONLY laser stuff. I plan on throwing in some LED's and such

True - I think people could probably make use of switches and LED's in labbies and maybe the resistors and such on drivers. It's up to the OP though :p

Man I'm definitely down. Throw my name in the hat please. I've got lots of goodies.

Is a post Ok, or Pm only to get on the list?

There is one :D
It's where I first heard of it here. Not many are on it. And the vets have one in the us.

That would probably be a good thing to do as there are plenty of members up there ;)

You've been a member for less than 2 months and you have nothing laser. How are you getting in line?

Not sure why you're being negative on all of my posts, but...

I've discussed this with Jeff, and he said it was fine. The 4-months rule is just a guideline, it's not a strict set-in-stone law.

It would appear members have a concern, maybe this should be limited to VETS only.

Re: Free: "Wandering box of laser junk" USA only

Obviously there was a concern in the past since there is this exact thing that has been going on only available to vets for the past two years.

If you are a vet you can see the thread here, if you are not a vet then sorry
http://laserpointerforums.com/f61/laser-swap-box-71985.html

I am not wanting to get into a fight with anyone since Jeff is holding this not me but on the other hand, I don't want to put $100+ worth of parts into the box to have one lost soul take it all and ruin everyone's chances at quality items.

There obviously was a reason to make the other swap box vet only and I have no idea why but maybe Dave can chime in since he started the last one.

Actually found that this dates back to 2008: http://laserpointerforums.com/f61/laser-swap-box-71985.html

Sign me up :p

Are you allowed to add completed lasers? Or can it only be components?

PM coming!

I completely understand what you're saying about sending $100+ worth of parts to a potentially untrustworthy member.

But I did talk with Jeff beforehand and he will allow me to participate. I have some proof I can be trusted (talk to Thejoker301) but my track record isn't nearly as large as some of you vets out there yet. Also, I don't have any reason not to be trusted :p

Sorry if I came across as trying to get into a fight with someone... That's not my intention at all

Re: Free: "Wandering box of laser junk" USA only

I am adding a complete laser but it needs a little tweaking (just a low budget 532nm build off Pete's design)

If someone is really lucky they might find a Kryton Groove, S06J, LPC, drivers, modules, etc..... in the box ;)

EDIT: BTW that wasnt aimed at you Adam. I guess it was just bad timing and not wanting this to turn into a fighting thread. Not all new members are shady but in the past we've seen our fair number of them, hence the slight hesitation by some older members

Ok!

I guess I will add my 650nm laserbtb pointer. Never did manage to sell it, and with my 654nm LG arriving it most likely won't find much use. Im sure it will find a better home :)

Ah, ok Livinloud...

I felt like it was aimed at me but thanks for clearing that up.
I understand the worry coming from older members, but the concern at the moment was coming from someone who joined in December and had less than 100 posts :p

Crazyspaz-

I know I don't fit perfectly but like I said I did already talk to him AND he actually later in the thread said "a few months" rather than the strict 4-month rule.

Re: Free: "Wandering box of laser junk" USA only

Screw you all. I'm taking the box and you'll never see me again! Or still? You get the point!

But seriously, if someone thinks making off with this box is of more value than their reputation as a member here, they are an idiot. The benefits of being a member here, and being able to buy anything at will, far out weighs the floating junk drawer.

Not to say it wont/can't happen, just saying, ,,,, how stupid.
