Re: free- starter kit

Hi guys,
First time poster, long time forum stalker. How does someone sign up for the free kit thing. I have been trying to build my own for a while but have been very overwhelmed by what I would need. Currently the only laser I have is a supposed 10w laser from China.
Hi KC,
I have you on the list as an alternate but because you only just registered and haven't made any introduction or posts before this give away thread. I am going to wait a few more days to let other people have a chance to read it.
In my description I asked that the person wanting the offer be a prior existing member of the community. If no other existing member claims the prize I will consider sending it to you.

Hi Jeff, He replied a PM to me he received the parcel and is very happy. Being his first build i told him the get all his stuff together first and not to rush it. Mistakes are very costly in this hobby, we all know that been there done that..
No problem he now has a good pair of glasses that will last him safety first.

Glad i could help buddy..
Rich:)

Re: free- starter kit

Heey, I lurk in this forum for some time now and just registered today cause I actually got to the point I'm sure I want a laser^_^ . DIY package is pretty interesting for me cause I guess I can learn a ton about lasers this way and will maybe start searching for components myself if I manage to manufacturing the 'beginners package' :). It can't be harder then build a PC on yourself, or? The thing is this is my first post and my registration day too, so I'm pretty sure OP won't give me free stuff what is completely legit ( I won't do it either) but in the case there is still quite package left I would really appreciate it :). If there's none left or OP don't want to give it to me, what member can I ask to build me a custom laser?

Greetings from Germany!
(btw sorry for my bad English)

Hello and welcome. Your English is very good actually. I just sent the last package to another member so,don't have any more. As far as handmade I would recommend Blord. Really well made lasers for a great price.

Re: free- starter kit

Thanks, thats really nice to hear/read. :) I guess I over hestitated again (classic me) and bought 2 on Ebay for 50€ inkl. delivery (German seller so i hope for a fast delivery):

1 <1mw Green
1 <1mw blue
Both come with a battery, charger and safety glasses.

I kindly asked him what amount of mw they have (cause Ebay doesnt allow to, uhm .. lets say "tell the truth"^^) and he aswerd they are 1-200mw. Sadly i have no LPM (YET!) to measure them. Anyone out there that has a LPM to spare / sell for a beginner? I really want to measure them and have one for the future. Also i could write i review for the community cause the seller i bought them from seems to sell more, so it would be nice for all (if there are german members here even better for them) if its worth to buy there.

Greetings

If you don't want to buy/can't afford an LPM you might take a look at this thread.
